Super assistive people who helped me buy tickets and get on the train in 5 minutes. If the ticket says Zone, it means you can get off at whichever station in that zone. The trains were on time. The toilet costs 1euro per person, you can by card. A bit far from the city center, so if you're not into walking, better get a tram.

Gent-Sint-Pieters is a large train station located in the city center. The station building is beautiful and historic. The entire station is currently being modernized, so there is construction work going on. Ticket machines and ticket offices are available, as well as some shops and cafes. The station is very clean.

Gent Sint-Pieters is the main station in the city, but it is located on the southern edge of the central area of Gent/Ghent, some distance from the heart of the city.

Frequent trams link Gent Sint-Pieters to the city centre, but some trains (including IC trains on the Oostende – Brugge – Gent – Antwerpen route) also call at the city’s other station, Gent-Dampoort.

Gent-Dampoort station is closer to the city centre than Gent-Sint-Pieters, it takes around 12-15 minutes to walk from Dampoort to the cathedral and the main square.

No trams serve Gent-Dampoort, though bus line 3 provides a frequent link to the city centre, although the bus makes a diversion away from the direct pedestrian route.

During the visit to this station, part of it is still under renovation. The platform side is quite modern (I believe it is just renovated) while the entrance part is old but unique. The building is clean, spacious and well maintained. Do remember to look up when you are inside the entrance hall as the paintings and architecture inside is very beautiful.

Have visited Ghent plenty number of times. The city centre is the best place to relax with a glass of porto wine and enjoy the weather

Very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Real assets, assisted us on every visit.

Other than that - a bit confused layout, place quite dirty and unkempt. More ticket machines would be welcome.

A real shame that the central entrance with original artwork is being neglected.

I would like to say thank you to the staff at the station. My wife left her bag on the train . The station staff called the departing train manager . The train manager found the bag and handed over to a train returning to Gent . 1 hour later the bag was returned t a very happy customer. Thank you Gent rail staff

This is quite a busy train station, with thousands of commuters and tourists racing every day to make it to their various trains in order to make it to their selected destination. But yet this station remains clean and easy to get around with departure boards almost everywhere you walk here. There's also a ticket and information office with staff on boar too.

The old station is actually very old now. But the new one is super modern and is going to be built and finished maybe in 2020. Then it would become the most modern station of Belgie in my opinion.
There are very few stores to eat here so no many choice.
