Nice and small railway station. Not crowded railway station, most of the time it's empty expect festival and public holiday season.

It is the third largest railway station in the country. It is located at Kadamtali in Sylhet city. I found it a very neat and clean station. There are both broad gauge and meter gauge lines. There are some variety shops and some food hotels inside the station. Passengers are going to different destinations of the country from Sylhet every day.

The train journey from Dhaka to Sylhet was comfortable & at perfect time you must book 10 day advance for desired seat....

In response to the demands of the tea planters in Assam, in 1891, the then British government started the construction of a railway in the eastern part of Bengal by the Assam Bengal Railway Company. A railway was laid from Kulaura to Sylhet in Sylhet district of Assam and Sylhet railway station was opened. Later, the railway line was extended from Sylhet railway station to Chatak Bazar in Sunamganj district.
The Kulaura–Sylhet railway section was inaugurated in 1912–15. As a result, when the Kulaura-Sylhet railway started, the then Kulaura station was converted into a junction station.
The Sylhet-Chatak Bazar railway was launched in 1954.
