Came here this afternoon and had a good experience. The staff were friendly and really did follow covid regulations. The store itself was well organised and they had a wide range of clothes. Was definitely happy with our experience today.

Katrina went absolutely above and beyond for me. I have never walked into a clothing store and felt so welcomed and taken care of!! She spent over an hour with me, styling me and helped me with my sizes. She knew exactly what I needed and what would suit my body type/ vibe. I was genuinely emotional!!! Thank you Katrina- an experience I will never forget.

Bella helped me find jeans which is usually something that is a dreaded task. All the staff are helpful and lovely. Good vibes are at the chatwood location as well as a good range of clothing. Ended up walking away with a bag full of lovely clothes for my holiday. Thanks guys will be back soon!

Impeccable service from the male manager who has been there for a number of years. Always love shopping for NBA Mitchell and ness gear here. Brand Name of Faulty Dress: Luck & Trouble

Universal Store: Westfield Chatswood

Bought a $100 dress from Universal Store Chatswood, which showed poor quality after one wear at a dinner for a few hours, developing large sections balls of fabric in 3 places. Returned it unwashed within 2 weeks for a refund, but was denied based on false claims of abrasion against an object! Despite the dress's fragility making it unsuitable for wear, the store initially offered no refund or voucher, followed by an offer for a voucher only after I complained. I declined the voucher wanting my money back.

Fair Trading confirmed the store's liability for a full refund due to the faulty product and advised submitting a complaint for resolution.

I encourage others with similar experiences to contact Fair Trading and post negative reviews. Be wary of Universal Store's practice of offering vouchers for defective items, unlike other reputable Westfield Chatswood stores. AVOID AT ALL COSTS and stay tuned for updates and social media alerts to prevent further issues.

One star. Could give it 0.
The worst flipping place, at 2:00 Pm Friday 13th my group of three girls including me. We’re told to drop our bags outside the front desk as soon as walked in. Being told it’s “store policy” now I knew this wasn’t true as I filmed many other customers walk in with backpacks, tote bags, purses and etc. The person who told us this was policy had black long hair wearing skinny jeans and a black top. While giving us dirty looks as my friend tried on and BOUGHT! a shirt even with the disgusting disrespectful attitude given to us. This store had only three people not including us in it at the time
which I doubt for a popular shop is “crowded”. Further note my group is teenagers and the adults in the shop didn’t get there bags taken.

I bought pants at Chatswood. After putting on the pants, I saw a staff name tag in the back pocket. It looks like someone was wearing it.
I lost trust. I sent an email to the office, but the reply I received was that the clothes were mixed up. A very absurd situation!

Your staff need to be more customer focused - absolutely appalling. when one of your paying customers ask if you have anymore sizes left can you actually put in the effort to have a look instead of saying you’re all out. I went to another staff member and she happily went and had a look - and not surprised there were plenty more sizes.

Unfortunately, I cannot give zero stars. My daughter turned up with her friends today with our credit card to spend money. She was told that she could not come into the store unless accompanied by a vaccinated parent. None of the girls were with parents. it was supposed to be our daughter having fun shopping with her friends.

Three things are concerning about this: 1) this company and store are willing to be prejudicial against customers with money to spend depending on the private medical circumstances of parents; 2) staff were unwilling to allow our children into the store to spend money, despite no requirement for children under the age of 17 to be vaccinated; and 3) who within the Universal company and brand believe they are the arbitors of deciding what customers can buy their products - this is pure discrimination in it's very essence. Perhaps Universal also screens Youtube content to ensure its credentials in all matters.

What a disgrace you are universal.

While I am sure our daughter will get over this given the excessive prices in store, we are never shopping at Universal again given this disgraceful treatment of our daughter.

For those in the retail business, if you are willing to treat customers with money to spend so poorly, you will not create the positive franchise value required in the age of online retailing to last the distance. Poor treatment of customers doesn't go away. Word of mouth tends to be the most important element of marketing success, whether that be in retail, or any other business. Negative referrals tend to have the opposite effect.

Good luck Universal - you're going to need a hell of a lot of it.

Our daughter is now spending our money in Glassons.
