We charteted Aquila Sunrise, the 44' Power Cat for 4 nights at the end of May 2024.

She was an amazing vessel with an abundance of space, 3 excellent entertaining spaces (1 on the back deck, 1 inside & the 3rd being perfectly laid out & sheltered seating area on the fly bridge), a great galley & loads of head room. The 3 ensuited cabins were ideal for the 3 couples we had on board, they were spacious & well appointed - our guests were amazed that they each had their own ensuite!

Scott, Tayla, Mal & Dan were a pleasure to deal with right from from initial enquiry via Tayla, the online booking process, Mal's boat briefing, Dan's cherry/cheaky assistance to Scott's overall guidance & communication throughout the entire charter.

I will definitely be using Fraser Island Boat Charter's again & would highly recommend them to anyone considering bareboat chartering as a way of exploring Fraser Island.

I also recommend you have experience with captaining larger boats & a reasonable knowledge of navigation marks/signals as Hervey Bay has many sand bars, channel's & banks that will catch you out if you're not careful. Scott & his team have added great waypoints on the chart plotter which is a huge help.

We recently had a great 4 nights away on K'Gari Breeze - the boat accommodated 7 of us comfortably and did everything we needed it to do.
Scott and his team were very helpful throughout the trip with advice on anchorages, tides and weather conditions.
Fraser Island Boat Charters have managed to strike a good balance between providing enough information and support, whilst also allowing their customers to be independent and free to enjoy the trip without interference.
Highly recommended and will use again.

First time I took the family on a self-skippered charter for 3 nights. Indigo is a nice boat and perfectly suited for a family of 4 or 5. The boat was clean, well equipped and provided enough space for everyone (although the engine power was a bit at the lower end). Thanks to the solar panels and wind generator the batteries were always sufficiently loaded (no need to run the engines in the evening to re-charge the batteries). Scott was always friendly and showed us all that we needed to know about the boat so that we felt comfortable sailing on our own (I was the only one in our party with previous experience). He also offered us some flexibility with our charter dates and times that allowed us to maximise our sailing time.

Everyone had a great time and we are already looking forward to try and do another sail in the future with more time to explore all the great spots along Fraser Island.

I recently went on ‘Dream On’ for a quick 3 night getaway and had a really lovely time with the family. Chartering such a large vessel seemed daunting at first, but the wealth of information and instruction on the day of boarding made it so much easier to relax and enjoy our time on board. Thanks heaps to Scott & Steph for providing such a great experience from booking to departure.

The Cat was quite spacious and well-maintained and suited our family of 5 really well. I was notably impressed by the clean white linen and beds being made similarly to a fancy hotel room. The extra nic nacs such as pegs, insect repellent and tomato sauce came in handy when we realised we didn’t bring them with us – it’s like they had thought of everything. (Not forgetting the onboard coffee machine.)

If you are interested in actually sailing and don’t have any experience, I would highly recommend an RYA Introduction to Sailing or Start Yachting course before you go. It will make it so much easier and you will have a lot more fun knowing what you are supposed to be doing. (It’s not essential you sail though as you can motor along just as well.)

I would highly recommend taking some snorkelling gear (that we forgot) and fishing gear. We had fun fishing and venturing ashore but with the water so clear we would have loved to enjoy some snorkelling as well. The sunsets are amazing!

Overall, a great experience and one that I will be sure to do again.

Wow....how amazing was that experience? We sailed out of Hervey Bay Mariner Saturday 23 September and just had the best 3 days out on the boat. The scenery was amazing and the ever-changing conditions just meant there was something new on each turn of the wheel. Oh and the whales ...how spectacular!!!!! We hired Aquila Sunrise - a very luxurious vessel and just so simple to operate - within the first half hour all my fears of having to drive a big boat were allayed. Scott and Mal made everything so simple and easy. Will definitely be coming back!!!!

Just finished 5 nights on Indigo. The weather was perfect although a little warm but they had fans in every room and in the saloon. Just watch out for the Mozzies and Midgies at Gary's Anchorage. Recommend sleeping with repellent on if you stay there overnight. Scott was great through the whole process. Highly recommend.

My husband and I chartered “Alida” for 5 nights. From my initial enquiry through to the finalisation of our charter Steph, Scott and Michael were professional, courteous and helpful throughout. The catamaran was well maintained, prepared and so clean and tidy which we appreciated.

We flew in and came straight to the marina via an Uber so the option of click and collect shopping at Woollies and having the company collect for us and stock the boat was hassle free and invaluable.

The onboarding process and safety instruction with Michael was smooth and thorough with some anecdotes and humour thrown in, making us feel comfortable and competent. We had never chartered a cat on our own before and we left the marina with a sense of calm and preparedness.

Updates with Scott morning and night and knowing that if we had any issues we would be supported by not only the company but the wider marine community at Hervey Bay put us at ease. Everyone seems to know everyone on the Bay!

The cat itself sailed well and easily and was very comfortable. Everything onboard worked and the kitchen was well appointed. The coffee machine was a bonus!

If we could give more stars we would. We had a blast - the weather was perfect, we had wind every day and the sunsets were sublime. We loved it so much we are looking to return in the Christmas holidays and will stay longer (yes, it was THAT good!).

We have had the pleasure of going out on "Indigo" twice now. One for a 3 day live aboard adventure and the other for a 3hour sunset sail for the work Christmas party.

Both times our expectations were exceeded by Skipper Scott and his team, and all the mod cons that Indigo has to offer.

Scott is professional in his hand overs and will make you feel comfortable taking one of their vessels out to explore the magnificent area around Hervey Bay and Fraser Island.

If we had the choice, we wouldn't return back to reality. Highly recommend if you want to do something different to the norm!

Our family of 3 enjoyed the best holiday experience during our 6 nights aboard Indigo last week. Hired Cattitude for 3 nights for my 40th birthday ... was a dream holiday !
Scott was very accommodating in helping us learn all the ins and outs about the vessel also letting us know when and where to go around Fraser island, Big Woody island and arch cliffs on Fraser ... which was our favourite spot ! We even saw a whale up close.
Scott also helped us get my friends on board a day after we set sail ...
The boat was exceptionally presented and very easy to use.

Indigo was spotlessly clean and well presented and accommodated our family of 6 adults comfortably. We had some great sailing experiences over four days taking in Big Woody Island, Arch Cliffs (our favourite spot), Kingfisher Bay, then a quick trip home in a 20 Kn southerly! Bear in mind that tides and wind direction and strength will dictate optimal transits and anchorages, so some flexibility is required. Scott was a pleasure to deal with. We will be back, in whale season next time.

We spent two nights in Cattitude with skipper Scott. What an experience! We are from “sunny” Scotland and to experience the Fraser Coast summer in spectacular ocean background was a great treat. Scott was a knowledgable and friendly skipper. He took us to beautiful places and helped us to indulge in snorkelling and swimming. We have no hesitation in recommending FIBC and Scott to all our friends. No doubt we will be looking forward to another trip with FIBC.

We had a great experience cruising around Fraser Island for 3 nights, it was our first time sailing and was very easy to operate the yacht after a quick demonstration at the harbour. We loved it and the only thing I’d change is going for more nights!
