My husband and I got married at Kingfisher Bay Resort in February 2024 and it was absolutely magical. The location is beautiful and the staff were absolutely wonderful. All my guests loved how personable the staff were and made sure we had great evening. Recommend if you are looking for a wedding location. Shout of to Morgan for looking after us! :)

It was hard giving 5 stars, but 2 staff members really set the place apart.

Like the title says. It wasn't perfect service from the beginning. But after going down to the Sunset Bar, Jasmine from Bendigo had a vibe and energy that really made that place unique. Perfect personality to set off that environment.

The next Morning, I wasn't excited to ask questions at the reception but a real lovely woman named Victoria greeted us with a smile and was so happy to help. Really was excited for us to go on the Beauty Spot Tour and explained how wonderful the day will be. She even asked if we wanted extra towels. Victoria was so helpful and pleasant that we once again felt like we were on holidays. When checking out, Victoria was so excited to hear about our tour. A real gem to the resort having Victoria. I noticed she had a tag saying training. She might be in training, but hopefully some others can pick up on Victoria's energy.

A shout out to Blair as well for being a fantastic tour guide. Awesome day. Thank you.

Excellent resort, pool and spa was fantastic. Good food. The K'gari explorer tour was the highlight of the trip with Martin. Also went on an exciting plane trip taking off and landing on the beach. Got to sit in co-pilots seat. Could not have been exhilarating. Saw a few dingos on the beach.

Such a great resort! We will 100% be back with our whole family. We attended for 1 night for a wedding and wish we could have stayed longer! They were helpful at securing an early check in at 12:45pm and helped us change our barge times the next day no hassle.

The Sunset Bar is an absolutely fantastic spot for a coffee or something harder if you're in the mood. Right on the water's edge with a stunning view up and down the beach and looking out on other islands in the Great Sandy Strait.

Just amazing, will 100% come back. Sure the resort is great, the rooms are nice, food and drinks are perfect and the island is beautiful but the real difference between here and anywhere else is the staff.

Jody at front reception was so helpful and friendly and really cared about helping me out of a jam, long story but I was stuck on the West side of the island with short notice due to unforeseen logistical problems with my transport and transfers. She made sure I wasn't stuck and gave me a good deal for a nights stay even as a walk in, more than that we had a good chit chat about the island and it's history. It's clear she loves the island, the visitors and her job.

Morgan went above and beyond with taking care of little details for my friends wedding, he even helped me make a makeshift cardboard case for my new fishing rod to prevent it from getting damaged on my flight.

All the bar staff across all the bars (too many to name) were good value and good for a chat and a laugh, genuine light hearted friendly service, reminded me of a simpler time when people had time for one another and enjoyed the small things.

To the big bosses behind the scene I say you are so lucky to have these great people working in the trenches, look after them and appreciate them because all the hospitality and corporate training in the World can not teach the attention to detail, care and genuine energy that these folks have.

To all that have read this review, try it for yourself and I'm sure you'll love it as much as I did.

I booked for a 3 night stay in a promotion deal which include ferry transfer and daily breakfast. I have a hip problem and they gave me a beautiful standard hotel room closest to the reception and dinning area, the meetup point for tours. The room is spacious with a balcony overlooking a pond with purple Water lilies. I also use the balcony to dry my swim wear. The bathtub has low rim so it is easy to get in and out. Hotel provide stacks of large towels to take to the beach or swimming pools. I enjoy and learn a lot from the free ranger walk with Rachel and Chelsea. I also had Chelsea in the explorer tour and she is so passionate and helpful. I love my stay and hopefully come back

Staff so welcoming and friendly in all areas of the resort.
Such a magical location and very special place.
The food was a little disappointing but portions were generous and we possibly ordered the wrong meals as other diners meals looked pretty good.
The Nachos especially looked enticing.
There is plenty to do and see at the resort it was a shame we were only there 48 hours and mostly hiked for this time so didn't get to enjoy the facilities to the full.

Wonderful place! Bistro dining was great, loved the pizza's and hoki fish burger!! Dune Restaurant was amazing and every dish we had was delicious. We travelled in a group of 7 and could not fault it.

We loved it here, despite the strong Jurassic Park feel (we half expected to be dive bombed by a pterodactyl any minute!). Room had good free wifi, good aircon, fridge and kettle. Good and varied eating options in the resort, good breakfast buffet with cooked options. Lots of space in and out, so very relaxed. Lots of beautiful bird life.

Everything was great but the food. Been coming here for over 25years and it's consistently less than average.

Breakfasts at $32 pp for a buffet aren't up to scratch and the 'barista' coffee, which is additional, is terrible.

Nearly $50 sirloin from the Sand Bar was almost rare and very grissly. Very average pub grub.

Whilst KBR isn't a food destination it would be good to have a nice meal.

Everything else about the resort is brilliant and in a stunning location.

Villa room 622, accommodation is a little dated but still quite good. 2 bedrooms which included 2 double beds, 1 single bed. Bathroom, shower and bath. Kitchen. Microwave, toaster, kettle, oven, cookware - oven trays, frying pan, tv with apps, able to log in to Netflix, Lots of space outside sitting area, lounge room fold out bed couch, tea, coffee, small milk, dish soap, laundry detergent, shampoo, conditioner, soap, options all provided free in room. #9 on phone to call reception 24/7. Pool towels provided at free anytime. Buffet breakfast is amazing. Lots of variety of hot and cold food, fresh fruits etc are delicious.
The beauty spot tour was amazing of the forest and beaches. During the drive down the beach we paid $100pp to do the scenic flight over the island and the sea highly recommended through air fraser.
Lots of horse flies and mossies bring insect spray and sunscreen. Lots of light covered clothes as the weather gets very hot.
Lots of cane toads especially at night time.

Rooms are beautiful but fixtures are dated, wasn't happy with the meal in the Dune Restaurant very ordinary. The resort is lovely, spa was excellent, being there in amongst all that nature is very relaxing.

Beautiful, spacious rooms. As soon as you get here, you feel relaxed!
We booked for 3 adults and 1 child, and they have given us connecting rooms with 2x single beds and 2x double beds. All of the beds are super comfortable, and there are no issues sleeping! Both rooms have a large verandah overlooking a pond. There is a small bar fridge and plenty of storage room. Really can't fault the accommodation at all.
The pool is great. Reality is.... if you're looking and have read all of this, just book! You won't be disappointed! Bring your car or hire. This island is the best of both worlds, adventure and relax!
Ohh... if you're coming in the warmer months, bring mozzie spray, not for the mosquitoes but for the march flies!!!

My first trip here and it didn't disappoint. Highly recommend the day bus tour from the resort. Just blown away by the rainforest and diversity. Thank you Butch, your knowledge and descriptions truly amazing.

This resort was really nice, when we arrived at our lodge our bags were already there, and the lodge had a master bedroom with bathroom, another double bedroom with a bathroom (without shower) and a 2 people kids bedroom with bathroom (without a toliet), so it was pretty interesting. The whole place was really spacious and fit 6 of us comfortably. The kitchen was big and had a dishwasher, pantry, oven microwave fridge etc. This place even had a fully kidded out laundry. Overall, the lodge was really good but it is a bit of a walk through the forest to get to the main resort and pools, so you don't want to leave anything behind. Service was awesome and bookings such as tennis were easy. The day trip on a 4 wheel drive bus was an amazing experience but it was a bit pricey. So worth it tho! Only bad thing I would say is the room did have a bit of mould but nothing too serious.

Just had 3 fabulous days/nights at Kingfisher Resort. We did the Ranger guided tour eco walk which was very informative, the Beauty Spots guided 4WD tour which was amazing. Our guide Martin was funny & provided us with heaps of interesting information. We paddled in Eli Creek & swam in Lake Mackenzie.
We did the Bush Tucker talk & taste which was fantastic.
Visited the Sunset Bar on the beach twice and was not disappointed with the sunset either day.
All in all had a fabulous time & were very sad to leave there today. Hopefully we will get an opportunity to return one day.

Great place. First time there during summer holidays, but was not as crowded as i expected. Easy to get chairs and tables at the pool.

The Villa:
We booked a deal through luxury escapes for 3 nights in a two bedroom villa that sleeps 4 adults. All of the villas are individually owned but we were allocated villa 632 which was super spacious and included some thoughtful extras such as some books, dvds and games. We also had a beautiful big balcony with spectacular views and a small bbq which was great to sit and relax.

Their was no wifi in the villa and we couldn’t work out how to use the TV and did call reception to ask for help but they said that as the villas are individually owned they were unable to assist us.

Dining:
We dined in the Sand Bar and Bistro for lunch on our first day and for dinner on the second day and all of our meals were reasonably priced and delicious. The sand bar also featured a swimming and some arcade games and was located about 25metres from where all the cars drove on to the barge

We didn’t try and of the other restaurants as we took our own food for snacks and other meals but they do have a couple of restaurants and bars to choose from.

The experience:
It was our first time to Fraser Island and all of the staff and people we met or spoke to were wonderful and friendly. There was a wedding and a few other functions around the resort on the Saturday night which got quite noisy but it was all done by midnight and otherwise it was extremely peaceful and simply beautiful.
