Rode down to Canungra awhile back with my Dad on the motorbike, decided to stop for a meal. I saw this place and was pleasantly surprised by the vegan and gluten free options being advertised so my Dad and I decided to eat there. First impression was that the staff were lovely and polite and the they obviously had done a great job in maintaining cleanliness.

As we perused the menu, we were thrilled to discover a wide array of options that catered to both our preferences. The inclusion of burgers and chips/meat-orientated food ensured that we could find something suitable for both myself, with vegan and gluten-free needs, and my Dad, who enjoys his classic meat dishes. It was a win-win situation for both of us.

I ordered battered tofu side with a deconstructed sushi poke ball and a kombucha from the fridge, my dad saw that they had a lot of chicken offered on the menu so concluded that was a chef speciality and had a chicken burger with a beer. Came out quickly and was DELICIOUS! The avocado was perfectly ripe, ingredients fresh, sushi rice cooked just right with crisp lettuce, and to mention the presentation was just flawless!

My Dad is usually not a fond of vegan food, but I let him try the tofu and he was a fan! I was particularly impressed with the portion size of the poke ball, which necessitated a takeaway container to securely carry it home under my motorbike jacket. This, in itself, is a testament to how much I enjoyed it haha.

Next time though, I would sit outside as the bar stools are a bit uncomfortable (no fault to Ginja Ninja though, that's on Dad and I for choosing to sit there haha).

Dad and I regularly talk about how good that food was and how much we enjoyed the experience. Was a fun time for both of us- definitely will be coming back!

I was in town for a friend's wedding and popped in here for lunch. The service was friendly and professional and the food came out quickly.

I ordered their signature dish, a teriyaki bowl, which was tasty and filling if a bit expensive. I also tried their sake. They only had one type of sake on offer but it was quite good. It was subtle in flavour with a bit of kick.

The only downside was finding parking. It was quite busy when I arrived around 11am on a Saturday If you're in town or driving through I would recommend stopping by.

The service was fantastic and the food was fresh and delicious. The cafe and bar were very clean and there was a great atmosphere. Everytime I visit Canungra I stop here for the Teriyaki Tofu Bowl.

We had the Katsu Chicken and the Karage Chicken. We were both super happy with our portions sizes. Plenty of meat. Maybe a little to much rice and not enough salad. But my partner was happy with more rice.

Everything on the menu is delicious! This visit, we had the tapas tasting plate and everything was cooked to perfection.

The spicy chicken karaage bowl was so yum with the flavours and karaage just right in terms of crispiness!

For dessert, we had the banana tempura which was such a warm, homey dessert! Very comforting.

Will be the only stop we make when passing through town 😍

Food was great, a pity it can't necessarily all come together, but they made it very clear it might not and its totally understandable given the separate kitchens, so no marks lost there. The presentation of the sushi was excellent.
Service was excellent, our table was a bit dirty so I asked for them to clean it and she did it instantly.

This was a beautiful surprise for such a small shop. Has a fantastic menu and the staff was very friendly, if you are on your way to the tree top walk make sure you stop by at Ginja Ninja!! The food felt so fresh and soooo tasty. Price is still pretty standard as anywhere, but very worth it for the quality!

Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was tasty, although not exactly traditional Japanese. More like modern Japanese fusion. We had a great lunch.

Delicious and satisfying meals. Enjoyed my sashimi and sushi bowl, though I expected more sashimi for the price, but I guess transport costs out here are higher than in the city. 🍣

The sushi rolls are reasonably priced, just $4 each. Great variety, fresh and tasty. Excellent, friendly and efficient service.

What a great place to have in Canungra, been coming here since it opened and its a favourite lunch stop. Probablynot as awesomeas it was in the first coupleof years, with qualityand portion sizes.
Staff are friendly. Inside is nice and air conditioned or outside it's pleasant on a cooler day.
Coffee not so good though, very weak, too hot and overfilled, so it was spilling as soon as I tried to drink it 🥺
Would definitely recommend for the food though.
