Dim Sum House

A fantastic dim sum place in the centre of Cairns. All the dishes are made to order rather than being on a cart so they’re super fresh and at their best. We had a couple of really outstanding ones including the stuffed eggplant and the stuffed mushrooms. The service here was outstanding! Very personable and friendly which is a bit unusual for dim sum as typically they’re very rushed. Can’t wait to return and try more of the menu.

Has yum cha selection made on site and some of these yum cha dishes are available at dinner time if you cannot make lunch!

The real cantonese refreshments are as delicious as the ones I had in China. Shrimp dumplings are my favorite. They have a thin skin and a rich filling. They are very delicious. The restaurant is clean and comfortable

The same dim sum standard as you can find in SEA in Cairns! Beats the dim sum at other established chinese restaurants. The usual dim sum of har gow, siu mai, chicken feet, steamed bean curd skin, lotus leaf sticky rice, are satisfyingly great. The stuffed eggplant has great texture with the starchy sauce. And the glutinous sesame balls are perfect; crunchy on the outside yet soft and chewy inside. The red bean is just enough sweetness. As usual, great prompt service by owner and staff members. Will have to try their non dim sum menu soon! May look empty at times but had been prompt witht the dim sum cart and friendly service. BYO too.

The best roast duck. Tried roast duck at several Chinese restaurants around town and this is definitely the best. Juicy and crisp skin. Tasty. You must try for yourself!

Unassuming place but don’t let that put you off.
Our second visit is just as tasty as our first. Equally the best tum cha we’ve had anywhere in the world.
The har gow ( steamed prawn dumplings) are delicious.
Some new dishes to tempt a dim sum afficionado ( stuffed eggplant , prawn and ginger won tons)
Char Sui Bau are also fantastic.
Very popular with the locals, especially on weekends so plan ahead.
Will definitely keep coming back and will have to try dinner as the menu looks excellent.

Best Yum Cha around the Cairns, they also got a variety choice of $10 lunch specials on weekdays great deals and super yummy

It is a restaurant with a kind steppe and a chief who cooks delicious lunch. Lunch was very delicious. This is the only place in Cairns where you just need spend 10 dollars to get taste this delicious food at here.

Dim sum and tea are very good and the owner is very nice too.

This is an absolute gem in Cairns. Wonderful fresh food, lots of steamed options, and fast efficient service. And it’s really modestly priced too! What more can you ask for? Absolutely the best yum cha in Cairns! Don’t be put off by the modest exterior - it is spotless inside and is a real treasure!

The best Chinese restaurant in cairns!!! I came many times and be addicted into it! Roast duck with dipping sauce is the one I would highly recommend. Also the dim sum that I missed very much, I hope you could reopen soon after Christmas holiday, Cheers!

Lacks the atmosphere of a big city dim sum place with the trolleys etc but makes up for it with freshly steamed/fried treats and good strong tea. Good service. The steamed pork buns are next level. Definitely go back for my next yum cha fix.

Don’t let the minimalist interior fool you, this place is a solid dim sum house. Service is attentive and friendly. Definitely a friendlier experience than other throw down dim sums.

Selection is broad and specific selections can be made. The first time we visited the restaurant was freshly opened. It was rather quiet, but they still loaded dim sums onto a cart to show us the available options.

There were a few up-sells, but no printed menu offered. We would have likely ordered more has we known what was available.

I feel this is their weakest point. During quiet times they would benefit from running off a dim sum menu which could be loaded onto a cart and brought to the table.

Really great food. Restaurant was empty and we were a little doubtful at first but decided to give it a try anyway with a recommendation from a friend. Had the chicken feet and siu mai to start with. Chicken feet was really good and the sauce was amazing. Then had the pork with tofu and eggplant stuffed with prawns and fried rice which was enjoyable as well. We were the only table in the restaurant except for some takeaway orders and the owner of the chef was really nice and polite as well. Overall dining area and kitchen area looked really clean and neat. Hopefully more people will go support this place as I wouldn’t wanna see such nice place with good food shutting down.

Excellent! Better than all dim sun house's on the Gold Coast! Excellent Hong Kong Cantonese flavors. If we were to get really picky, chicken feet could be braised a little longer and har gow wrapping slightly thinner. But overall excellent! 100% will be back!

Very tasty and authentic Yum Cha! Dinner dishes are full of flavor and fresh as well. Staff are welcoming and good at customer service. Have enjoyed my meals in Dim Sim house!

Truely is the best kept secret in Cairns!! Doesn’t look like much from the outside but was the most amazing yum cha! Service was brilliant nice and clean inside and BYO is amazing. All the dishes we had were full of flavour and delicious. Will definitely be going back new favourite restaurant in cairns

A true gem, 1 of the best Yum Cha Restaurants we have tried, the Salt and Pepper Squid and Dim Sum were stand outs among the other excellent dishes we had, highly recommended.

Finally I found The best dim sum in town. Very tasty and yummy. Friendly service. Chicken feet is my most favorite dish.
