Nam Restaurant

I’ve been going to Nam my entire life and it has ruined food for me. Nothing will ever compare to it. I’m giving 5 stars only because I can’t give 10.

The owner and staff are wonderful, the service is quick, and the restaurant is comfortable, clean and cozy. The satay chicken is incredible and would be my last meal if I were to die. I can’t put into words how good Nam is. Every meal I’ve had here (many) has been delicious and it is consistently so, something I have never experienced anywhere else. Every time everything tastes exactly the same as every other time I’ve ordered it, an actual 11/10.

Nam is a local institution and I hope it never closes, if it does, it will be too soon.

The food here is really fresh and delicious. They have been in business for 28 years and you can taste why. Highly recommend. Best Vietnamese food i have eaten in Wollongong and the whole group was very happy with their meals. Satay is very tasty.

I had heard some really good things about Nam's from a Vietnamese friend but had never had the chance to go there until last weekend and I can't believe I've been missing out!!!
All the dishes we had were so tasty and full of flavour and the spring rolls were crispy and fantastic.
It's definitely a Vietnamese restaurant that I will be visiting more often.

Food is never a disappoint!! Love this place. Such good prices too $. So many GF options! Always so yummy. Great lunch specials. Atmosphere is lacking but the great food and great prices makes up for that!

The food in this place is down right amazing. We stop in on the regular and waddle out exceptionally pleased and super full and depending on what we order, it costs less then $50.00 for the two of us.
The staff are helpful and wonderful to deal with. We have never had trouble getting a table to dine in provided we book at least the morning of. That said if you miss out on a table they do great takeaway and the service for take out is super quick.

Great food, a bit pricey for dinner compared to lunch

Everything tastes so fresh. Recommended dishes are Steam Boat and any Satay dish. The chicken and prawn salad is also great and recommended for a starter. Its also great value and you can get a good feed at a very good.The Satay really is the highlight of this restaurant - Full of flavour. All other dishes we have tried the meat has been cooked beautifully, including prawns that tasted very fresh. Small, with a family feel.

My family and I have been eating here for 30 years and it's still our go to for a special treat dinner. We love Nam!

We get take-away fairly regularly from here and I'm never disappointed. The owner is always very friendly and the place is always packed which is a good sign.Having sample many menu items I can safely say that this is some of the best food in Wollongong. The service is fantastic and the staff are absolutely amazing and friendly - eager to ensure a great meal.

My favourite restaurant in the Illawarra
I’ve been going to Nam’s for over 20 years and it’s my favourite restaurant in the Illawarra. The food is always great, freshly cooked very tasty and affordable. The waiters were attentive and service overall was great. The best satay and spring rolls in Wollongong. Overall always a great meal and great value and I certainly will be going back.

Nam Restaurant is not simply a place you buy food - it is an experience, where any willing participant can treat their taste buds to the best chicken satay they’ll ever encounter.
