Carnation Thai Restaurant

We showed up without a booking on a very busy Saturday night. The food was wonderful. Highly recommend the whole barramundi, but all dishes were great. Well priced and especially drinks were very reasonable. We look forward to returning

This place is a hidden gem.
I never understood why it was Always busy until we called in for dinner.
Great selection of food to cater for all, including kids.
Prices are great and the food wonderful.
The place looks a little dated but don't let that hold you back. It has been there forever.
The place is clean and tidy.
Great location at the bottom of town.
They do takeaway and were also happy to give us containers for our unfinished food which we happily took home.
They have a well stocked bar and supply tap water for free

Wow wow wow this place is so yummy!!! The food was the best thing we have tasted in Wollongong!! The lamb shank is a must try!! The Curry puffs tasted so fresh and the best thing was the price was great!! They had lunch specials till 3 pm!! Enough room for kids and Baby prams also. Parking is street parking but found it very easy.

Such a great dinner! We ordered the Carnation crispy pork belly, crying tiger wagu beef, and veg spring rolls - so happy with the food and service! Even though it was busy, we were served quickly, our drinks arrived quickly, and we were asked if we were ready for our mains.

The food was cooked perfectly! The pork was great! So crispy and cooked well. The sauces were really complimentary to the food. Everything was amazing. Thank you, guys, for such a great experience!

There is a very large selection of meals including entrees and mains

Reservations can be made and menus are provided immediately. Waiters come around occasionally but the food takes a bit longer than average to arrive compared to other restaurants.

From the moment we walked in the service was wonderful. All the staff on the floor are very attentive. Definitely go on an empty stomach as the portions are a good size. The entree of fish cakes was just the way I liked..👍. We will definitely go back.

Very surprisingly delicious Thai restaurant that we didn't expect. My parents and i like here so much. I think it's a much try Thai restaurant in NSW haha better than anyone in Sydney.

Was here with my girlfriend last week at Carnation Thai and was surprised by the quality of the food. Really authentic. The staff was attentive as well. Overall it was a great dining experience for us. Will come back !

Was in Wollongong, and looking for a Thai restaurant, tried few in the area, but Carnation Thai Restaurant ran by a family stuck me, and felt guilty if I don't put a review. Tried few of their dishes married flavors of good produce. The yellow curry is my favorite, that I will go again and again to eat it.

Love coming here for the Lunch Specials that are reasonably priced, especially for the portion of food given. On top of that, the food is AWESOME! Highly recommend the Pad See Ew – the noodles are so tasty. The service is pretty good; the staff are kind and outgoing. Good to get a window seat so you can enjoy a view of the street while eating. The interior of the restaurant is also very cosy and clean. Today spent only $24 on two full meals.

Great quality of food, even when arriving at late hours (45’ to close). Congratulations to Cheff Too.

Best value lunch in town!
Twice now I've had the Beef Red Curry with steamed rice, and it's tasty and very well priced - $12 😋
Dined in - table service, but I ordered when I walked in and was eating 10 minutes later.

I had the same meal on a previous evening, and $24 then - I think that serve may be a bit larger, but the lunchtime special is still quite generous;
enough for most people,
if you're super-hungry or a piglet like me... just buy an extra steamed rice for $3. 👍

Ate there nearly every day while in Wollongong, about 7 times.
Same dish every time, and absolutely consistent quality.

Continuing my travels now, but will visit again on my way back.

One of the best Thai restaurants in illawarra the food and service is amazing I go there twice a week

It's the best fried rice I've ever had in the region. We also had honey chicken and spring roll, they were delicious. Meals are very well served, everything is very clean and at a good price.

Lovely place and food. The waiter and waitresses were friendly and loving, but I suggest to be more aware of customers who are in need of service. Overall an enjoyable experience!

The food was amazing the lamb shanks and scallops are my choice.

Really nice food, rich authentic flavours and great value. Lunch specials were available, which had a good range to choose from. We were all very happy with our visit and left with full tummies and a nice glow from the chilli!
