It’s a great place to watch fireworks. I saw it recommended on Red Book. In the afternoon, we set out to watch the fireworks and there was still a spot.
It's a bit difficult to park nearby.
If you come here to watch the New Year's Eve fireworks, it is recommended to bring a power bank, picnic mat, umbrella, garbage bag, napkin, food and jacket.

Great place for new years if you want a family friendly area for the fireworks.

The oval at Birchgrove. It looks really well maintained with plenty of facilities so it gets 5/5 for that alone. The oval also has a good view of the Harbour Bridge a very short walk from the main facilities. Nice and decently priced cafe are also close by.

Great park. There's a large oval with cricket pitch, and batting cages, a public toilet that's usually unlocked, Bins and free doggy bags.
There's plenty of shade around the park, especially on the walking track around it. There's a children's playground on one side across the small street and a lovely little beach with views of the Harbour bridge.

Dogs allowed everywhere, unleashed except the oval.

The water can get dirty, just depends on weather and clean up efforts of the locals, usually looks bad after heavy rain and at low tide.

It was a very nice place to visit. There's a large and well maintained oval with cricket pitch. On the side, there are cricket nets.

There is a nice playground and public toilets in close proximity of the playground and oval. There are also a couple of bubblers for water. There's plenty of shade around the playground and the walking track. Most areas (less the cricket oval itself) are dog friendly, and there are dog bags available to put their deposits in the bins that are available around the park.

Not too far away, there are also tennis courts and also a cafe for your coffee fix or a bite to eat.

There are some amazing harbour views, with part of the walking track being right along the waters edge.

There is street parking available, however things become difficult during peak sport times and also often on weekends in general.

Lovely spot to settle down with a picnic but look out on windy days. Between the retainer wall and the anchored boats is a swimming beach, which is also popular with people taking their dogs for ball fetching exercises. You can clearly see the Sydney Harbour Bridge from the beach

Dog friendly park and beach just not in the enclosed playing field. Great view of the Harbour Bridge. Has a tennis court.

Great Harbourside park with a dog beach. Home of the first rugby league games in 1908. Do a lap and see what you find, there’s a dog beach and a cute castle too.

One of my fav places for sunrise. Dogs aren’t allowed in the oval but the beach front at low tide is perfect for dogs. But overall a nice park to hang out in with or without dogs.

If you're with your family on new year's eve then this is a great place to see the fireworks at the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Public toilets in close proximity and a short walk to Darling Street if you want to grab a quick lunch.

One of the prettiest and most peaceful harborside parks. Easily reached by 441 bus service from town hall.

Excellent cricket table, and soccer ground as well.

Great park to bring your kids or animals and sit in the sun. Toilets are new and clean. Parking can be tough when events are on but drive around and you'll find a park in one of the side streets. Definitely take a smaller car if you have the option
