Visited with my partner, 3.5yr old and a 15mo old. Everyone absolutely loved it. There was lots of veg cut offs to feed ge animals and you're able to walk into the paddocks to interact with animals.
It's old, run down and has a lot of charm! There's lot lots of people mentioning that it needs an upgrade and that the play equipment is so old, but honestly, that's exactly what gives it character. Would highly recommend a visit. PS if you have a Small Ideas membership, you get 50% off entry fees!

Great experience for the kids, plenty of feeding opportunities, kids loved the close interaction with farm animals. Tractor ride is free, which is great. Pony ride costs additional $5 but the kids enjoyed it. Also has a playground which the kids loved. Staff were really friendly. The farm was less crowded compared to the ones in the city. Highly recommend this farm and will visit again.

We love RHS. An amazing real working farm experience. Our youngest is loving playgroup and getting to meet & greet all the animals.
The staff are lovely and happy to share all their knowledge with everyone.
The tractor ride is always a favourite for all the kids.
A wonderful fun day out for the whole family.

Great way to spend a couple hours with the family. Son enjoyed the tractor ride and the pony ride. The story time was a lovely touch for the little ones with the live animals and instruments involved.

We had my daughter's 6th birthday party here - she had such a perfect day, very relaxing but at the same time so many things to do. The party/ tram room was perfect for our small group and the kids had a wonderful time patting and feeding the animals. Thanks so much Rain Hayne & Shine!

We absolutely love this farm not to far from Melbourne for a day trip. The farm is clean and animals look happy unlike others we have visited in the past. Kids had the best day

Perfect day out with young kids.

Bring a change of shoes. Maybe even a change of clothes depending on the weather and/or your kids want to play in the mud.

Parking is easy. Staff are super friendly and helpful.

Highly recommended for a day out without screens if you're down the peninsula.

They offer pony rides for $2 too which is a bargain.

Perfect for young kids and the price is fantastic for what you get. It’s pretty well kept for a small farm with constant maintenance going on from what I saw. All animals were great and they even took us for a tractor ride. Pony was super cheap at $5. There is no eftpos so cash for payment or bank transfer is another easy option. Overall great.

Like one of the reviews on here.. this is also one of the best farm experiences we’ve had! Sue (I think she may be the owner/manager) takes such great care of all the animals and gets all the kids engaged and having fun, like feeding the baby goats and riding the ponies 💕 After a lovely time with the animals, we got to do the hay ride on the tractor, and finished off with a nice picnic!

We hadn't been to Rain Hayne & Shine in a few years, and it's still just as awesome.

Great place for kids to interact, feed and pet various animals compared to the zoo style places which are more looking through cages.

The pony/horse rides are a good addition and something the kids really enjoyed, although it would be good if it was a little longer.

Can definitely recommend this place to a family/parents with young kids who want a casual and fun day that's low maintenance.

I had great time at Rain Hayne & Shine farmyard. The owner are really nice. Sue is so helpful and answered all the questions nicely. Her husband is so funny, always make a joke with us.

There are goats, sheep, donkeys, pony, piglets, bunnies, etc. We ride a horse, it cost $10 for 200m. ride. It’s good for someone who never experienced horse riding. They have pony ride for children. Truck riding is free of charge. We love the goats so much. They are so friendly, you can pat and hug them. I definitely want to go back to hug them again.

One of the best, if not the best farm experiences around. Extremely reasonably priced, big selection of animals and activities, easy and abundant access. Friendly staff and clean facilities. Perfect day out every time.

Loved our day here, interaction with animals very organic. Staff are super friendly and my highlight is story time where they use the animals as characters. Will definitely be back. Be sure to take a picnic lunch but they sell good coffee and a few snacks

A great place to visit for kids and families alike. Not a massive place but perfect in size for families with children.

Ample opportunity to feed the animals and the staff are very friendly.

There were petting areas, feeding areas and a space for play and a story time session which the little one loved.

Great spot. Will be back!

A bit of trivia for the railway enthusiasts, the rest area at the back of the property is an old Tait train carriage. Otherwise known as the Red Rattler. Taken out of metropolitan train service by 1984.

We had such a lovely afternoon here with my 8 yo and 3 yo - friendly and helpful staff and lots and lots of animals to see (and feed!). Highly recommend

We had the best time at the farm this week.
I have been to 2 other main children’s farms in Melbourne and this one is by far the best for small children.
The layout of the farm is much smaller so a lot less time walking from paddock to paddock which is great for my 3yr old who gets worn out on large day trips.
The staff are the absolute highlight of the farm. They are kind, attentive and welcoming. It’s not too busy so there is ample opportunities to access different areas. The pony rides, story time and tractor rides are the perfect duration for kids and families. They have plenty of tables and chairs in the shade when you need a break. The pricing is affordable. We were lucky to see many baby rabbits who were so lovely and docile to be held. My daughter loved every minute. We can’t wait to come back. Thank you.

I went today with my 3 kids (7,5, 3) we spent 2.5hrs there. Had a great time. The kids loved it! The fact there was food infront of the closures was fantastic and they had green ticks if you were allowed in and red crosses if not. Bloody Ripper place! Thanks guys
