Absolutely fantastic place for a coffee and cakes. And for wine as well!!

The staff was kind, the place nicely decorated with plenty of seating I side and outside on the terrace.
We loved all the coffees we had, but the cakes were truly out of this world! We ended up buying a bottle of local wine, with great advise and explanations from the teammate.

Highly recommended!! Loved that you could do a bit of wine tasting before moving to your table. Lovely atmosphere and service too - wines were explained in much detail. Both the wines and pasta were great (a bit too much salt would be my only comment). Thanks for a great lunch

I absolutely LOVED our lunch at Merricks today, celebrating our anniversary. Honestly it’s the nicest food I’ve had on the Peninsula since moving here 8 years ago. Gorgeous food, yet not pretentious, such an appealing menu (found it hard to pick as there was so much I loved the sound of), beautiful attentive service. The side dishes especially lit me up, if I wasn’t so embarrassed I would have ordered all 3! Thank you Merricks, happy to say it’s the yummiest lunch I’ve had in a really long time :)

Merricks General Store is a restaurant that consistently provides a great dining experience. During our visit, we opted for the main courses and sides, and we were not disappointed. The fish dishes we ordered were flavorful and cooked to perfection, each bite delivering a juicy and satisfying sensation. The accompanying salad was a refreshing delight, with vegetables that tasted as if they had been freshly picked from the fields. And let's not forget the chips—decadent and irresistible.

We love having lunch in the restaurant then spending time in the traders store to stock up the pantry with quality gluten free items. Big thanks to Fi the restaurant and Sarah in the traders store for outstanding service during our most recent visit.

Lovely and super friendly place for lunch with a historic looking decor. The barramundi was beautiful seared and crispy on the outside but soft and meaty inside. Would definitely recommend

Had a super delicious breakfast here. Service was warm and helpful. Loved the fireplace which was so cozy, especially on a cold winter morning. Coffee was good too and we even came back for cake after walking the Merrick trail. The flourless almond orange cake was perfect. Highly recommend Merrick’s store if you’re close by.

Absolutely stunning place. Decor is Devine, inviting and relaxing. Service was prompt and friendly. We came for breakfast. I ordered the Turkish eggs and they were incredible! My partner absolutely loved his eggs Benny, commenting that the hollendaise was the best he’s ever tasted.

Finished with a cheeky post breakfast wine tasting. Our pourer was super friendly, fun and knowledgeable and the wines were delish.

A great spot not to be missed!

My friends and I walked the Red Hill Rail Trail and had lunch at Merricks General Wine Store. We ran late for our original booking at 12.30 pm and requested to defer the booking to a later time. We were amazed and grateful for the friendliness of the staff. They accommodated the request when they could just have said no, considering how packed the place was.

Two of the dishes we ordered, chicken and seafood, were challenging to perfect. However, we had a perfectly cooked skewered octopus and a chicken that was crispy on the outside but moist on the inside.

You can tell the freshness of the ingredients when it reaches your palate. It won't surprise me if they make their butter and cream in-house. It tastes nothing like store-bought ingredients.

We are organising another visit to the place. Thank you for the lovely and delightful experience.

Best service we have experienced on the peninsula. It's all quality products without the pompous attitude. Staff smile at you!

The wine tasting at Merricks is free, we had the fish (the specials recommended by the waitress) and the salad to go with the white wine. The fish was superb, service was great and the staff are really friendly and knowledgeable. This winery/restaurant tucked away in Mornington Peninsula is a true gem of a place, it is simply one place you cannot miss if you're on a trip to the Peninsula!

Stunning dining area. Everything was cooked beautifully and presented well. The waiters were prompt and friendly. The Burrata starter we ordered was absolutely stunning, the best Barrata I have had.
Everyone ordered there own mains and shared the vegetable sides, which was a fantastic conversation starter.
With everyone having there own mains we ordered 2 vegetable sides for 4 people and it was the perfect amount.

Yet another Mornington Peninsula gem! Friendly and efficient service excellent choice of wines and exquisite food with a focus on local produce. Everyone involved deserves in this great place the highest praise. Thank to all involved in making our birthdays' lunch quite special.
