Much more than just a train ride. This was an insightful and well presented trip through the history of the Moonta and Copper Coast area. I would absolutely recommend it as a stop and smell the roses type journey.

Interesting and well preserved rocks and crystals, historical fashion, uniforms, musical instruments, weapons, medals, photos and rooms. The man who hosted was very friendly, welcoming and provided good information on the walk through. I liked the principal's office 😂

It was amazing to see all the memorabilia from the past, amazing to learn how different times were back then. Really interesting information on Cornish history too.

This is one of the best museums we have visited. An extensive exhibition on the mining history starting in 1961. Being able to walk around the actual sites as well is a bonus. So much history being kept for the future is good to see. Even just to walk on the worn old floorboards. You can visit the old mine sights even if the museum isn't open. Get a map from the info centre.

Not a great lover of Museums but this one tells an amazing story of dedication, hardship, toil and death while conising this harsh land. Hundreds of children died as well from poor water availability
Very moving museum with thousands of original items from past era's

Fantastic museum. So much history and extremely educational. We rocked up 40 minutes before closing, and the lovely lady at the door gave us our receipt and said if we couldn't finish it, we could come back tomorrow. Thankfully, we finished it before closing. It's really worth your time, and the sweet shop is right opposite the museum!

This is an excellent collection of historical items from the Moonta region. Set up in the old school building the museum covers many years of Cornish life, copper mining, schooling, church life and society. Well worth a visit when you are on the Copper Coast. You can get your train tickets here for the mine tour too.
