Krakatoa

Krakatoa was an absolute marvel - original, tasty food, and great service, with an excellent choice of drinks.
The setting is a little strange - around one side of Kokomo's Bar, but it works, and the tables are well spaced.
Service was fast, friendly and very helpful - they knew all the answers, have a separate vegan menu, and easily adjusted one of the set meals for gluten-free.
The drinks list is actually more extensive than the menu card implies and is accessed via the website also used for check in.
The first dishes came out quickly and were sensational - the Tempura Oysters and Macadamia Pie Tee were 2 of the best dishes we've eaten anywhere in recent years.
Pork Belly, Trout and Duck Curry Mains were very good, though we thought desserts let the side down slightly, especially the Chilli Smoked Chocolate.
This is meant to be a short term pop-up so get in quick and secure a booking before you miss one of the best meals seen in Canberra in recent times.

What a ripper of a place! Food's incredible. Cocktails are extraordinary and Chris the bartender is a flaming Marvel!!
