Merchant Artisan Food & Coffee

We stopped in for our complimentary breakfast with our room. We were promptly seated right away. The hist was very nice and greeted us with a smile.

Outer breakfast was ordered, and maybe 10 minutes later, it served fresh and hot.

The portions are large, and I couldn't eat it all. I'll have to scale that back tomorrow morning.

The restaurant is clean, quiet, and an inviting area to dine.

This a solid 4 to 4.5 stars. Nothing to fix here. Good service, good food, at a great price.

Good wheelchair access and top notch coffee. The air-conditioning during Cairns summer months is a must for me. I will be back for sure.

Staying at Pullman reef hotel, this cafe is amazing, is in the same building with Pullman and casino, they also open for public, accor loyalty discount accepted, Staff were amazing and friendly, food beautiful, big breakfast of the Top, coffee so good. Definitely recommended.well done.

Staying at the Pullman reef. This was our daily coffee place. had breakfast twice all takeaway. My partner like the coffee warm and every coffee was made perfectly. the breakfast we had was a decent serves. Highly recommend 👌.

Merchant is an excellent little cafe tucked away in the Reef Casino. It has a great outdoor section with day beds and integrates nicely in the hotel foyer. Some quirky decor with a steampunk wall, brickwork and navigational branding make the atmosphere really interesting. The coffee here is of a high standard as the baristas are well training and the beans come from the award-winning Wolff Coffee Roasters. It is most impressive that they regularly service good filter coffee here as not many Cairns cafes have this on the menu. The BEST thing though is the food. I love the tapas menu and have returned many times to try more goodies. The selection of cakes and treats is also everchanging and are usually decadent and indulgent with generous portions for the pricing. Well worth a try.

Perfect coffee. Fully and accurately delivered every description on the tasting note of Big Dog Bean. Nutty, dark choc, malty, hint of honey sweetness.
I regret not finding this place sooner in our trip. And I'll try to purchase a bag of Big Dog if they sell.

Chocolate muffin was a great deal too, very generous with chocolate chip, it was slightly warmed when served, crisp on the outside, soft and moist on the inside. Chocolate was half melted as it was warmed. 1 coffee+muffie for $9, great deal.

Chocolate cheese cake was great too, sweetness and the cheese creamy texture was well balaned. Will definitely revisit when we come to Cairns next time.
