This place is small and cosy which doesn't overwhelm the staff so it the service and the food they serve reflect this. Yes you can go to a more upmarket looking restaurant but I guarantee the food won't be in the same realm. I've been to alot of Japanese restaurants in Brisbane and this is my favourite. The Agadashi Tofu is next level

Excellent again, as always. Only wish they had a bigger restaurant so they could fit more people in. Normally need to book a table in advance. Aburi wagyu tool was really good. Tempura Prawns were cooked perfectly, still a little firm and taste was great.

The fact that this place is 4.7 (at the time of writing) is an outrage. Chidori is 5 stars every day of the week. It is top quality Japanese food at a reasonable price. I really want to know where they source their seafood as the sashimi is absolutely delicious, especially the kingfish. It is a small and unassuming restaurant, but don’t let that fool you, the food is quality, service friendly and prices reasonable. Agadashi tofu is my pick but it is all great.

This would have to be one the best Japanese eateries in the suburbs that we have had & we are lucky enough to experience this food on the Bayside. I highly recommend this place. It is not very big inside with limited seating, so recommend you book a table or you will be disappointed & have to settle for takeaway. Prices are very reasonable. The shop is very small so if you blink, you will miss the place. I highly recommend the salmon.

Best authentic Japanese food in Brisbane. So good that at certain times of the year my friends and I have a tradition of going.

I enjoy the dishes at Chidori every time I go there. I've been in Wynnum for over two years and as I'm from Osaka, Japan, I'd like to say this is the best place in Brisbane to enjoy proper Japanese cuisine 👍 the photo is what I had for lunch today the Bento Box was $20 including Miso soup. They were pretty much fully booked for lunch so I'd recommend you to book a table beforehand 🙂

Definitely one of the best restaurants in Brisbane for authentic Japanese food!! Always the freshest ingredients and made to order so guaranteed to taste amazing. Hands down recommend to anyone who misses the flavours of Japan! Owner and staff are super friendly and take care of you. Prices are really reasonable especially for the quality and quantity of food you receive. 10/10

Thoroughly enjoyed my lunch Bento, the sashimi is sensational and the presentation is pleasure to the eye. I am deeply touched by the heart went in to prepare such beautiful meal, very much appreciated.

Had chicken katsu don for lunch. Definitely one of the best katsu don I have ever had. Friendly service and cool jazz playing in the background.

What a pleasure to experience subdued lighting and peaceful background music in the environment, the place emanates a tasteful vibe. The food is crafted with utmost care and each dish was a taste sensation — befitting the deep experience and top-drawer restaurant credentials and skills of the master chef and his hospitable partner. We are fortunate to live within walking distance of this gem and I expect to work my way through the entire menu soon. I marvel at the presence of such a high-class food operation in our local suburb but quietly rejoice at our good fortune.

I love Japanese food and this place will not disappoint. Gyoza was a standout dish. Fantastic! Make sure you book a table or you will struggle to get in.

Simply the best Japanese restaurant in the Bayside. Had a delicious meal as always. Sashimi was superb as was the Salmon Tataki 💗💗💗

Delicious food, great indoor atmosphere. Ordered takeaway, they prepared it quiet fast, before the ETA. The takeaway is well packed, the portions are large and the food is tasty. Highly recommended! The parking can be quite packed, as there are not a lot of parking spots, but there are plenty secondary streets nearby, and a short stroll is good after a good meal anyway 😂

What a great find, the food is delicious and reasonably priced. It's BYO so be prepared if needed too. Parking isn't usually a problem because it's amongst Take-Away shops and I believe you would get a wheelchair in as well.
