I believe it was Jack behind the bar looking after us and both of us said how he is incredible! He was the barman with the funny hat (as he called it)

Welcomed us in so warmly and let us browse for a minute before getting into it. He was just so genuine, funny and knowledgeable about all the drinks. He definitely 100% made the experience for sure 👌👌

The whisky and gin was also bloody good

This place has a very vast range of Tasmanian whiskies including some very rare ones. They do range in price and can get quite expensive if you taste some of the upper shelf whiskies but it's a must stop if you're into whisky at all.

If you like whisky or gin (even a little), you must try this place! Just near the ferry terminal it is definitely worth visiting on your trip to Bruny Island. The House of Whisky holds the largest collection of Tasmanian single malt whisky, all for the tasting. The knowledgeable server, Cat was down to earth and super friendly. She provided us her favourite selections and gave fantastic history about the various distillers. This is a fantastic place to explore whisky without having to buy the bottle or travel from distillery to distillery. Thank you for being open - what a great asset to Bruny Island! We will be back.

This was our first stop off the ferry and we loved it. The staff member who helped us was so knowledgeable and went out of her way to be helpful and accommodating and really took our visit from good to great; she was wonderful.
I tried a few different gins and they were all delicious. Our friends tried a flight of whisky and really loved everything they tried too. Definitely recommend stopping in on your way around the island.

A Toast to Bruny Island's Whiskey Haven

As soon as we laid eyes on the charming classic exterior of this whiskey bar on Bruny Island, we knew we were in for a treat. The moment we stepped inside, we were immersed in a haven of whiskey and class. The warm greeting from the staff made us feel at home instantly.

The highlight of our visit was the whiskey tasting session, which was both educational and entertaining. We learned about the rich history behind each whiskey we tasted, shared laughs, and swapped stories with the friendly team. The gin and tonic were perfectly mixed, adding to the lively atmosphere.

Before leaving, we couldn't resist purchasing an alpaca shawl and a magical bottle of gin that changes color—a true testament to the unique offerings of this spot.

For those in Tasmania, a detour to this gem on Bruny Island is a must. It's an epitome of the island's quality produce and the locals' hospitality. Make sure to try the house selection; it's tailored to your whiskey preference and guarantees a delightful experience.

We're already looking forward to our next visit. A hearty recommendation for anyone on Bruny Island seeking a taste of local spirit and camaraderie.

This was by far the highlight of my trip to Tasmania! The different flights of Whiskey was genuinely on par with some of the greatest Whiskey's I've tried! The atmosphere was incredible the designs of the bottle themselves were unique. Kat was extremely knowledgeable and her amazing positive personality made the whole experience even more remarkable. I would 100% recommend this amazing experience and its only a shirt stop from the ferry! Dont miss out!

A great service from a Brisbane born chap who's knowledge and experience in whiskey made me interested in it. Loved the stories of different distilleries. There was also some young fellow there who should not be in the service industry at all as he didn't made us feel welcomed nor wanting to taste anything however, the older, Brisbane born guy made up for the young guy sub optimal service quality.

Loved our experience here! The two guys behind the bar are so passionate about their jobs and just bring a great energy to the whiskey tasting. They are very knowledgeable and were accommodating of our last minute tasting. Would highly recommend this as part of any visit to Bruny Island.

Attended the Distillery 13/11 planning to taste a bit of gin. We had fantastic customer service from the gentleman behind the bar, he set me up with a tasting board of 2 gins and 2 creamy liqueurs. It was all delicious. I just wished I had space in my suitcase for a couple of bottles! The venue was also welcoming with great views.

Their waiter Jack IS THE BEST!!! He welcomes everyone besides his closing time (unlike the cheese factory who were extremely rude, and trying to make us leave close to 4pm). Highly recommended

After we arrived at Bruny Island we immediately spotted the Bruny Island House of Whisky and we decided that it would be the perfect last stop for our daytrip at Bruny Island.

We choose for a Whisky tasting and although I was never really into Whisky I loved the tasting! They have some very tastfull Tasmanian Whiskeys and the staff is super friendly. They could explain everything about the Whiskeys perfectly. I would definitely reccommend this place even if you're not a big Whisky drinker like me. Next time I'll definitely come back to taste some of the other Whiskeys they have to offer.

OMG!!!! The epitome of service 👍

From the moment we walked in we were met by the amazing Katherine, who oozes charm, passion and knowledge for the product range.

My wife and I share an appreciation for whiskey, and she loves her gin. Enjoyed tastings for both, learned a lot in the process about Tasmanian whiskey and gin making, and didn't hesitate to walk out with a selection to enjoy when we get home.

If you're spending a day at Bruny Island don't miss this amazing place!!!!

Amazing gins, amazing service. Lady who served us was very patient, friendly, kind, and accommodating. Toys and coloring for kids available. Beautiful indoor and outdoor areas. Try the pea flower gin and the barrel aged gin.

Amazing - if you like whisky, this is definitely worth a visit. Pricey for a good tasting, yes, but the staff's knowledge is well worth it. Visit in the morning, and wait for the crowd to dissipate from the latest ferry so you can relax, enjoy and and learn.

This is something special for a whiskey connoisseur. They have a great range of Tasmanian whiskeys for degustation and sale. I got staff's pick flight, which had 4 whiskeys of different palates and strengths. The two favourites were Sullivan's Cove and Heartwood (something I'm increasingly regretful in not purchasing as I'm trying to procure a bottle back in Brisbane).

Combine that with the option to have said whiskeys outside with an amazing view and you got a pretty special experience. 10/10 would do again.
