Elm Dining

We have been to Elm twice in the past 12 months.
Both times the food and service has been exceptional. Both times we had the chefs selection (6 course meal) with wine pairing.
My partner and I live in Geelong and have had dinners at the best restaurants there and some in Melbourne.
Elm for flavour, freshness and overall vibe beats all of them.
Could not recommend more.

Amazing dinner for a birthday on a Saturday night. Attentive service, excellent food & wine.
Great ambience. Highly recommend. We always come here when we visit Bright from Melbourne & it never disapoints.

Exquisite dining experience. Absolutely outstanding. One of the best regional meals in Victoria I’ve ever had. The lamb ribs with the sichuan seasoning was mouth watering. I don’t usually eat desert, but the coconut parfait with kafir lime in in my top 5 deserts I’ve ever had.

Excellent service from Alexis, who was professional, warm, and knowledgeable of the menu.

An extensive wine selection, with an array of non-alcoholic options for those who don’t drink.

Elm is fine dining at its finest. Located in a historic building in the heart of Bright this venue is amazing. From the first moment everything was done to perfection, from the unique cutlery and superb glassware on the table to the most amazingly friendly knowledgeable and professional approach of every member of staff. The tasting menu featured a selection of innovative taste treats presented as miniature works of art. Every dish was a delight and explained beautifully and enthusiastically by our lovely attendants. The selection of wines from the resident sommelier was awesome and well matched to each course of our meal.
A custom cocktail finished off our meal to perfection.

An exquisite experience and 4 years since I was last here. We couldn't have asked for a better evening of dining. The knowledgeable, attentive staff didn't let a water glass go empty and described every dish including the composite parts. We had the pescatarian option also.

We had a 6.15pm seating and for a quieter evening, I'd recommend this seating, as it did get louder from 8pm. Looking forward to returning before another 4 years! 🍽🐟🍆

Lovely setting not too noisy. Staff very attentive and knowledgeable with both food and drinks. Food was to die for absolutely amazing experience of flavours for the palette. Will definitely come back

Our 6.15pm booking at Elm Dinning last night took us on a journey we were not expecting. From the minute we entered the converted doctors premises we were welcomed as if we were part of the family, albeit the special ones! With the simple but intriguing menu explained, we sat back waiting to be entertained, unsure whether this small Alpine restaurant in the centre of Bright could mix it with the big guys. What came next was a culinary delight of flavours and presentation, starting with the Oyster Ponzu and Scollops with finger lime followed by the Murray River Cod and Gippsland Grass Fed Sirloin, with all dishes interspersed with mouthwatering palate cleansers like the Elm Tartare kombu. Accompanied by the suggested Sentiol Chardonnay and Pinot Noir our experience was complete, mind-blowing in fact.
It just shows what a team, dedicated to making dinning out an experience, no matter where they are based, can do.
Thank you to all of the Elm team for an experience we were not expecting. Big guys watch out!

UPDATE: After returning a year later I must say I am even more blown away by this week's dining experience than I was last time. Not only has Elm gone through a complete revamp, turning from quaint country doctors office to a moody neoclassical dining experience, but the menu has completely changed to match - becoming more edgy through its use of modern Japanese flavours, cooked with classical European techniques. Our table particularly loved the Elm tartare, made with the most incredibly textured pressed watermelon and the Murry River cod rillettes with daikon chips. The desserts have also taken a solid step up, our last course balancing delicate flavours of camomile, peach and elderflower in a loose interpretation of a cheesecake. Add to the experience the charming staff and knock out wine pairing, I seriously couldn't fault this place. I will be very surprised if Elm isn't included in next year's Good Food Guide. Thanks team!

We booked in at Elm for our last night in Bright after being recommended by some locals. The restaurant is beautiful with only a few tables, meaning we were really looked after by our waitress Annalynne. The menu changes each week, but always available is the fresh baked sourdough with smoked butter (insanely good). Also if they still have it on the menu, highly recommend the barramundi with preserved lemon or the octopus with nduja (spicy sausage).

Exceeded expectations. Firstly, wonderful and welcoming front of house team. Great wines. the food just smashed it. Not sure our favourite- the scallops?? The corn. All winners. Our fav was the Murray river cod dish.

We've just had a wonderful dining experience here at Elm. We had eaten at their adjoining Yard a few days earlier (also wonderful) and decided to visit here to celebrate our anniversary.

We chose the degustation option, and were served a wonderful selection of dishes. From their warm bread with whipped sambal butter, followed by lavosh with a whipped brie, we then sampled their trout tartare, kangaroo and the eye fillet, which was served with panisse and grilled honeydew.

We are not wine appreciators, so a rhubarb and grapefruit negroni went down a treat.

We we also given some beautiful tapioca (never thought I would utter those two words together) and a lovely finisher of samples of lemon meringue, white chocolate fudge and nougat.

The staff were brilliant. Engaging in conversation, knowledgeable of their product, fast and efficient.

I speak plainly of the dishes, but the blends of textures and the balance of flavours was superb, we had such a beautiful evening sitting on the deck and being treated to a meal that will long remember.

Amazing little place with great taste. Food was fantastic, the wine choices were great and the staff know were experienced and knowledgeable. I would highly suggest opting for the degustation and pairing with a bottle of wine.

Hands down best experience we had in Bright. Beautiful food, great setting, warm and friendly staff. We are from Melbourne so consider myself a foodie, but would definitely go here again next time we visit. Highly recommended.

Deserves its title as the best in rural Victoria. Inventive menu and stellar wine list. Great service.

A great dining experience to enjoy in the North East!
The summer degustation was very enjoyable - albeit served a little fast.
The crab was incredible.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, explaining each dish well and attentive to drink needs.
The table spacing due to covid made the spaces feel extra personal ... with some rooms only having two tables and no background music to mask conversation 😬

Would return again for next seasons menu!

Food is out of this world. Service is excellent, friendly and attentive. The vibe is romantic and soothing. But I'd go there anytime for the food even if the atmosphere and service sucked. Portion sizes were good, everything was very fresh and seasoned and cooked to perfection.

OK, I've been off the air for a while, and now I'm back with a beauty. What can I say about Elm Dinning in Bright, North East Victoria, other than a must visit. Amazing food and wine could not fault anything.
Now the staff, the best service I've had in a long time, the team is amazing as is the building it is in. Can not recommend dining there highly enough.

The food was fun, exciting, creative and scrumptious. Not cheap but well worth the expense.

Experience from start to finish was just lovely. We were able to enjoy a drink out the front pre-dinner.
Great selection of wines and cocktails.
The food menu was diverse and there was something for everyone on there. Fresh produce and well thought out dishes.
Special mention to our server India! She was delight, she lit up the room. It was so nice to be served by someone you could tell just loves their job so much :)
