Absolutely kicking myself for taking so long to enjoy this culinary experience. In the heart of W’Gong, we are so lucky to have this little piece of perfection at our fingertips.
The most friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable staff made our night marvelous. We indulged in the set menu & it did not disappoint. The journey they take you on from start to finish, is one you never knew you needed. Bravo to the chefs that have brought such incredible flavors, elegance and character to our town.

What a wonderful place for a special date night. The dishes we tried were rich and inventive (drenched in butter!). Nice atmosphere and everything thankfully came out quickly as we indicated we had a show to go to.

Had the Sunday Lunch set menu for a group of 9 to celebrate my 30th Birthday. Food was delicious and staff were wonderful and accommodating of requests and dietary needs, as well as staggering the meals for a guest who arrived late. Everyone had a gret

Great service, delicious food. I ordered a set menu, but I recommend you to get Al a carte and try everything! I will definitely come back next time and try it all, especially the entrees. I should have asked for his name, but the tall young waiter was very friendly and extremely courteous. I had a wonderful time with my mum. I was very grateful for his clear spoken voice and really enjoyed his sense of humour.

I’ve visited Babyface a few times and have always been impressed. The food is brilliant and the service is seamless. The way they cater for gluten intolerance made me feel like I was getting more rather than less, which is rare. Definitely worth a visit.

Had the Sunday set menu with wine pairings and what a gem it was, couldn’t fault anything. The guys out back did an amazing job with the meals and up front the wine pairings were on point, along with great service.
Well worth the 5 stars, thank you babyface for such a great experience 👶

Probably one of the best dining experiences of my life.

Very good staff, friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, everything you could want.

The food...honestly, the descriptions are mouth watering and the actual results are even better. Every dish was divine.

Could not recommend a dining experience more highly.

Really great venue. The biggest setback is community support for this style of restaurant. Menu pricing was very reasonable. Quality of cooking was elite. Service from front FOH amazing. Just very few lunch services because the economy isn't there to support extra services. Would recommend if in town and looking for a nice meal.

Babyface kitchen has to be one of the best restaurants I have ever been too.

Firstly the atmosphere, its quiet, well spaced out and not overly loud.

The tables and seating are perfect, comfortable yet stylish and placed perfectly so your not on top of each other.

Staff, they were AMAZING, our waitress was flawless, she was quirky, funny, up for a chat but gave us plenty of time to chat alone. The other waiter was the same, they were both very knowledgeable about the menu and explained items in simple terms if we struggled to understand.

Drinks, WOW, the cocktails were superb. My partner couldn't drink and the mocktails on the menu were not to her liking so we ask if they could make something off menu, something alittle sweet and berry like and our waitress said NO WORRIES. They came back with a mocktail that was PERFECT.
I had the cherry blossom cocktail (in the pictures) it was delish and not overly strong.

First course,
We had the Buckwheat noodles with caramelised kale and egg yoke and potato scallops with homemade tomato sauce.
The noodles were probably one of the best buckwheat noodle meals ive ever had. The caramelised kale really finished it off, really creamy and delish.
The potato scallops were alittle plain. Maybe needed alittle more sauce or something else. They were really nice, just alittle plain.

Second course,
We had the smoked Pork belly off the bone in a delightful sauce and King prawns in a cultured butter cause.
Both dishes were amazing.

For dessert.
Chocolate tart with poached peach and I had vanilla ice cream with bits of brittle and broken bread. Wonderfully superb.

The best part was my partner was 8 months pregnant at the time and they were super helpful with anything we wanted.

We will most definitely be back again.

But what would I know, I'm just a bearded guy who loves burgers.

We tried their set menu today with wine paring.
Many of the dishes were completely new to us but worked amazingly together. In particular we loved the caramelised bunya nut miso + almond and the honey bug. Definitely a 5 star for attentive service. It gives me the feeling that this restaurant is very down to earth and so worth supporting if you’re a foodie wanting to learn about what combination of delicious things you could possibly put in your mouth and wanting to help out our small farms :)

On a Thursday evening our group was keen to head out and make use of our freshly acquired Dine and Discover vouchers. With the prospect of Gladys picking up a big chunk of our bill we were keen to try something new and at a venue that accepts the government discount.

Babyface Kitchen is located on Kiera St in the city centre. This street is fast becoming Wollongong’s answer to other big city food strips with more and more upmarket and fine dining options establishing themselves along what will one day be known as the Gong’s foodie golden mile.

On the night we visited we expected to be able to explore the seven course tasting menu for $100 per person. Initially put off that the tasting menu was not available our disappointment quickly turned to happy intrigue as we were told the evening was a “super casual” wine exploration evening with an a la cart style bar menu available for food selection.

Our table was a cozy bench and chair combination in a modest but very cozy dining room. Tableware is high quality with cloth napkins to complete the fine dining experience.

We were immediately approached by one of the many local wine importers and sommeliers showcasing their local and imported bespoke selection of all things vino. With a small but generous splash of wine we began what turned out to be a thoroughly enjoyable journey through some amazing and unique wines.

Wine can sometimes become a bit wanky depending on who is presenting the bottle but all the grape gurus were casual, friendly and non pretentious. We ended up buying a few of our favourites by the glass and a bottle of an amazing limited release from Japan!! Even without the food this was an amazing experience. Truth be told you could easily have not bought a drop of wine the whole evening and still had a good level of happy intoxication as the tastings were free flowing and generous. And most important there was never a hard sell, in fact, it just felt like we were having a drink with friends who wanted to share the amazing wines they had discovered.

Let’s get to the food! We decided on some share plates to start and our choices arrived a short time later.

The Wonboyn oysters were perfect. Freshly shucked and accompanied by the perfect amount of blood plumb vinaigrette that complimented the natural flavours of the mollusc without taking over.

Spanner crab on a chickpea cracker was a refined and delicate serving of crab flesh contrasted perfectly on a crispy cracker.

The coral trout was described as heaven on a plate by one of our group and it was a very fair description. Super fresh and perfectly seasoned coral trout this dish delivered in every way.

Our last share plate was hands down the stand out of the evening. The Koji fried scarlet prawn was just amazing. This crunchy prawn delicacy gives way to silky roasted oyster Mayo that has been injected into the centre of the head of the prawn. The crunch and cream combination is so perfectly matched; this is a dish you simply have to try!

We ordered two mains and a side to share. The mains consisted of the Mud Crab and Pastrami Short Rib.

So far Babyface had nailed the seafood dishes and they continued the kick gastronomic goals with the protein based dish. The short rib was cooked to perfection with each and every piece of the pastrami almost melting in the mouth. Accompanied by a simple yellow pea mustard and some house pickled veggies this was comfort food at its best.

Back to the seafood and the mud crab with buckwheat noodles was a flawless example of how fresh ingredients, cooked with skill and complimented by a brilliant sauce just make for great food. The specks of belly bacon added just the right amount of salt to this amazing dish.

For our group of three we had probably consumed enough wine and food at this point to satisfy our appetite but we couldn’t leave without sampling the desert menu. We ordered three of the sweets on offer and all of these were delicious.

I have run out of characters but in conclusion Babyface Kitchen is a must!!

My fiancé and I had a dinner reservation at Baby Face on Saturday night, and we were so impressed!! The food was just AMAZING! We had the 7 course set menu, and it was honestly perfection.. I couldn’t fault it! The meal sizes were perfect as I was honestly full by the 7th meal! We decided to let the waiter choose our wines based on our usual red and white wine preferences, and the wines he chose for us did not disappoint! Our waiter for the night was so friendly & knowledgeable. We were so impressed by the taste of every meal that came out, and we walked away absolutely loving our experience from Baby Face. Although on the expensive side, we felt that this is something everyone in Wollongong should at least try once because it’s so worth it!! Such an incredible dining experience!

Went here for a late V day dinner and went for the set menu. $140 per person may seem a little steep but if you can get through every dish and still be hungry you have my respect. The food was delicious with great variety, and the staff were very flexible in terms of food allergies and changing the menu to suit.

I felt as if my taste buds were given a metaphorical happy ending by the great sages of flavour. But not a tug and run, it’s like they stayed long after to snuggle and whisper sweet nothings to my tongue. The wine pairing is totally worth it, despite how obscure said wines were (earthy and organic to say the least). Don’t let that discourage you, when sipped alongside the miraculous bites of the mysterious meals presented, they blend like Sir Elton John and Billy Joel. Get your life in order and get yourself down here, pronto. Your last breath in life should not be “I should’ve gone to Babyface”.

Went here to treat myself to a fancy pants meal - I was so impressed, restaurant was warm and intimate with mood lighting, just my kind of vibe. Tried the set course with wine pairing, flavour combinations were perfect.

Staff were accommodating, knowledgeable and friendly. Pretty obvious why they've received a chef's hat for the 2023 smh good food guide. Must try this one, I can't wait to come back - the menu changes frequently.

My favourite was the main, Somerlad chicken with cherry & beetroot. Melt in your mouth delicious. All in all a pretty amazing dining experience.

Omg! The finest dining I've had and yes I've been to all your fancy places in Sydney. Had the banquet so we got to try lots of thing but everything is like something from master chef I could not fault a single meal.
The staff look after you like any 5 star place.
I honestly can not wait to come back.
Only one tip though stock up on your alcohol I was told we run out of vodka during the night and if I would like them to go to liquor land and the exact same thing was said to someone else I spoke to who went the same week who was drinking whiskey. Maybe just buy a case of each.

Superlative food and the most obliging staff on the planet.

Fairly noisy, but most small restaurants are - and it was a big group for lunch. Vegetarians and food allergies accommodated by prior arrangement.

Toilets are hard to access for anyone with a mobility restriction.

Our lunch at Babyface was awesome - the food was delicious - the wine was also delicious . The ambience is just perfect and the air-conditioning on such a hot day was a welcoming entrance to the restaurant. Jen was an absolute delight as our waitperson and her explanation and knowledge of all the foods and the wines we had was commendable. Thank you and we will be back - definitely.
