TaChun Chinese Restaurant

First time trying Ta Chun and was pleased with our dinner! Kudos to the staff who worked on Easter Sunday. They all put in a team effort. Appreciated the kitchen staff helping out to make sure the food reaches the table ASAP! The dishes are amazing. Found another gem in the gong.

TaChun is an incredibly friendly space. We had a friend's birthday held here, and the girl staff who served as was friendly and helpful, she even brang out new plates, sparklers and a knife for us to cut our cake.The food came out at a good time, and we all enjoyed the variety of Chinese cuisine. The Sichuan Boiled Beef was very generous to share for a group of 6. The other dishes we ordered were generous as well. The mocktails were very aesthetic and appealing, and generally enjoyed by our group, would recommend to order if you do not drink alcohol, it's absolutely delicious. I would recommend ordering dishes and steamed rice separately to share for large groups. If we could rate it a 10 out of 5, this restaurant would 100% get it. When there was a mistake order for us, we were still able to have it paid by the restaurant and the dish came for free. Overall, I absolutely recommend TaChun Chinese Restaurant for iconic, Chinese cuisine and accommodating, professional and friendly staff. I would definitely come here again.

Great food, authentic Chinese cuisine, only formal Chinese restaurant in Wollongong. Nice decor and ambiance. No free house tea unlike the fast food style Chinese restaurant! Come here for the authentic Chinese food but if you prefer cheap eats, go to fast food style Chinese ones.

Service was exceptional, food had an authentic Chinese flavour without too much added sugar. 3 excellent dishes for $85 for the two of us was just what I was looking for.
Loke service? I doubt you can beat this restaurant.

I was here yesterday with my friend for the first time and it was so amazing. We tried the pork dim sim with fish roe for starter and wonderful pork ribs with orange sauce for main. Everything is perfect here, staffs are friendly and food is good as well, I would definitely come back for more good experience.

Amazing foods with great value! The rib is one of my favorite, so yummy, also the prawns are big, fresh and juicy, very recommend! Best Chinese restaurant in town.

We loved our lunch at TaChun. Lovely decor and an extensive menu with old favourites and new additions. It starts with quite a selection of dumplings, buns and rolls. We tried the fried dough stick with their own made XO sauce and loved it. Full of flavour.
The salt and pepper said was the most tender, melt in your mouth squid I have ever eaten. And we loved the Typhoon Pork and General Tao's Chicken.
Good wine list reasonably priced and friendly helpful staff.
Highly recommend if you want an upgraded Chinese restaurant meal.

Enjoyed the atmosphere, friendly staff, and the food was decently price for the high quality and amount you received. Highly recommend for anyone looking for good Chinese food. However ensure that you book a table because it is busy and you may not get a seat or need to wait.

Absolutely delicious! We had the truffle dumplings and wantons in chilli oil, which were perfect examples of dumplings. The spicy diced chicken was a revelation of fried chicken! The best meal I have had in ages.

I’ve eaten at TaChun twice in the past week. Once was with a large group (18), the other for just two. Both times the service was polite, efficient and easy going. But the best part was the food. I’m not always a fan of Chinese restaurants, and many restaurants in Wollongong are hit-or-miss, but this one has hit the mark for me on both occasions. The salt and pepper squid is my favourite, cooked very nicely, not too heavy. The prawn dumplings are extremely delicious, and you can’t go wrong with the honey king prawns either. I highly recommend this restaurant for a nice meal in town.

The food is amazing and so fresh. We had crispy honey chicken, bbq pork fried rice, Mongolian beef. The staff were friendly and very attentive to our needs. Highly recommend.

Thank you for our delicious meal! We were so impressed with everything! The person who took the order was so helpful and friendly on the phone (Covid, so can't sit down to eat). They were even happy to make a dish for me that wasn’t on the menu. A great service! Food was ready on time, and it was really scrumptious! We will definitely be back, and looking forward to sitting down for a proper “served” meal.
