Wonthaggi Hospital - Bass Coast Health

I have been here three times so far. For three very different reasons. Every time, I'm treated with respect, listened to, and met with cheerful people. They are professional, efficient, and hard-working. If this was the only hospital I'd have been to, then my view on hospitals would be radicaly different.

Went into emergency last night as baby had a very high temp and was throwing up everything including Panadol and the staff at in the emergency department were so through and nice. One of the nurses Gemma completely made my baby girls day by giving her attention and playing with her. The paediatric nurse that was triaging her was absolutely amazing. Doctors were amazing and overall had a great experience. Really happy with the amount of care our girl received and she’s now making a steady recovery.

Can’t thank the Bass Coast Team at Wonthaggi enough. The emergency staff were fantastic back in 2021 when care was needed overnight. Recently, the maternity staff was absolutely brilliant this year for our birth and post natal care. Highly recommend this hospital and so thankful we have such great care in regional, and nearby to where we live. Go Wonthaggi team, you guys are awesome ❤

I presented a severe virus and a heavy cough. Wait time for triage was fine. The waiting room was clean. The treatment was in reasonable time. There are screens but nothing was turned on so boredom set in quickly. I was not a priority. Eventually saw a doctor after a nurse had taken bloods, blood pressure and listened to my chest. He discovered my ear was infected so prescribed antibiotics which have helped. I had a number of COVID tests but all negative. Ive still got symptoms after 10 days but they've eased somewhat..I give the treatment I got 10/10.

After a 17 hour stay in emergency recently, I'd like to thank all the staff that cared for me in some way. Everyone was kind, friendly and just very nice. I felt like I was in good hands. Thankyou.

Can not fault this hospital at all. Between the staff at the desk, security & the palative care nurses, you all went above & beyond to not only make dads last days comfortable, you made us all feel at ease. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Today at noon I went because I had a problem with my chest. I am very happy with the hospital staff. Very good service, well done.

The friendly staff in this hospital are amazing. Thank you for making difficult times much easier and taking the time to explain things clearly it makes an immense difference.

Very professional and caring, I felt in safe hands straight away,although I only had an overnight stay in emergency the attention and information I was given was first class 🙏

The care I received from Dr. Ronald was exceptional, he went over and above and I want to thank you to all the amazing staff, nurses and doctors for the care I received.

I don't wish return anytime soon but if I do, I will be content in knowing what a wonderful hospital Wonthaggi has and the lovely staff too.

I would like to thank the doctors and nurses in the ED on Saturday afternoon/night 26 February 2023. They were wonderful. They performed many tests and examinations to get to the crux of the problem. The only names I remember are Nurse Kirby and Paul from Radiology. They were great. Karen Stanford

I can’t speak highly enough of the wonnie hospital and Bass Coast Health. I needed to get in for an iron infusion at very late notice. The staff miraculously squeezed me in the morning after receiving my referral late in the day. I was anxious and couldn’t get my heart rate down, and the staff were so lovely and calming to me. The best part of the experience though was meeting lovely Minnie the haematology dog!

Thank you to the ED staff , under extreme pressure today everyone I came into contact with was professional and reassuring. To Dr Molly and the consultant on duty thanks for checking everything you both went the extra mile for me. Congratulations to the Wonthaggi emergency department your population grows every holiday season but your staff doesn’t and yet the standard of care remains high.

Just had a child at wonthaggi hospital. The entire maternity unit just made my life and delivery journey so easy and comfortable. I never knew this could be such an inspiring journey. Thank you team. Thank you entire ward for saving me and my child's lives. ❤❤❤ can't thank you enough.

Had my first en second baby there and I absolutely loved it. The maternity ward is nice and quiet, rooms are big and the staff is just so beautiful.. they made the memory of the whole birth even more beautiful!

Hi all I have been attending iron infusions for the past four years and the nurses and staff are just amazing . It feels like going to see your friend , I can't say enough too about the staff you are true hero's. Thank you for taking care of me and many others. 💕

Had a day surgery at Wonthaggi hospital. Excellent care right from Megan who did the admissions to Dr Jodi Keane who performed the procedure and the anaesthetist (forget his name sorry ) and Trish and Lucy who took care of me post op. I’m sure there were others but everyone was kind, professional and I was well looked after . Thank you to the beautiful staff at Wonthaggi hospital!!

I went to Wonthaggi emergency with a broken rib and was grateful for the excellent treatment from nurses who work so hard. Was seen promptly, everything done in a timely and caring manner. A big thank you to Nonna, a wonderful caring nurse.

( who is ) These Two ladies put me at ease and guided me through a difficult procedure. Very professional and brilliant dentists. Thank you Definitely 5 Stars.

Staff are always professional & friendly. Hospital always looks clean & staff always are dressed neat & tidy.
Only complaint is the car park & the cars that park blocking the path way in & out just to park so they don’t have to walk. Fines need to apply when cars park outside the marked parking bays
