I spent a month in this hospital in the Neurology ward and couldn't speak highly enough of the doctors, nurses, physio, all staff, absolutely everybody I dealt with.
They're amazingly supportive and helpful. Never made me feel like I was a burden and even helped my husband find accommodation and with all he had to know about what to expect.
Special shout out to Sharon Barlow, MS Nurse who I have had the pleasure of dealing with for many years

I wish to pass on my thanks and gratitude to all the staff at the Emergency Department at Flinders Hospital after 2 recent visits with my daughter. One being New Year’s Eve and again on 3rd January 2024. The care and attention throughout both visits was excellent and she was seen to on both occasions in a timely manner. Thank you to Flinders Hospital administration teams, nurses and doctors and all the medical professionals involved for doing an amazing job. It is very much appreciated.

So very grateful for the nurses, doctors and volunteers. I've been in and out for my toddler with sicknesses, every trip has been amazing. Always lovely, felt prioritised for both my son and me. Although we live quite the distance away, I'd rather drive the hour than go anywhere.

Had a fall from a scooter and was unable to walk. Staff got a wheelchair and helped me sign in.
Nurses David and the others were so helpful as I was on agony. Seen to and X-rays taken promptly considering how long I thought I'd be waiting.
Seb was brilliant in taking care of me.

I used to volunteer here in the Cafe and Gift Shop and the people are still warm, friendly and professional.

ED staff are honestly the best people, thank you for making a horrible experience (the pain!) bearable through your kindness!
And the Ambo who asked if I needed help as I waited for a wheelchair

I'm really thankful and appreciative of the support and care provided to me by all staff at the neurology ward at the FMC, from the support staff, to the nurses, doctors and radiology folk, they were thorough in getting to the bottom of what was going on and worked tirelessly to help everyone on the ward. So thankful we have accessible healthcare, I know funding is an issue but so thankful for staff doing their best in often trying circumstances - know that you are appreciated and your kindness means everything!

I went to the emergency department at Flinders hospital because my eye was blood shot and sore after I booked in I was seen within 20 minutes, 2 doctors examined me and said I needed to go to the eye clinic in Flinders private hospital, being a Saturday afternoon I was expecting to go either Monday or Tuesday but to my surprise I was booked for the next day Sunday at 9.30 am, I was seen by the doctor and a follow-up appointment was made within 2 days. What a fantastic experience I had, quick professional and caring doctors. Well done 👍this is a follow-up post. Im sitting in the eye clinic Tuesday 12th September been here 3 hours still waiting, seems like 1 maybe 2 doctors plenty waiting to be seen. Further post, I was seen by the only doctor on duty he was fantastic, very attentive and caring considering the extreme work load upon this only doctor on duty, he was working non stop trying to attend to all the patients thank you for your hard work and dedication to your patients. They need help here! Mr Premier.

Hi guys,

I recently underwent a Parotidectomy and neck dissection with Dr Ooi and Dr Marshall.
I just wanted to pass on a big thank you and my appreciation, to the entire team for doing what you all do, day in day out. You're all amazing.

Thank you also to all who assisted with my experience from the initial phone calls to book my surgery, the actual surgery, through to ward 5B and transit lounge.

The care, compassion and communication from the team were effective in calming my nerves and preparing me for all events to come.

You all do an outstanding job. Really.

Speaking of the team in 5B, to all whom crossed my path whilst I was there, thank you.
I felt comfortable and listened to. I was at ease asking for assistance and had a few good laughs.

I appreciate and value what you are, and what you do.

From the time I walked into AnE,, everyone was caring and went out of their way to help. Now I was sent here by my doctor, not in the back of an ambulance. The swift way I was seen to by triage and the patient manner of one nurse with a child, I knew I was in a great hospital..
Shame not all SA health facilities are like this place.

Brilliant, understanding, caring, compassionate, hard working and kind professionals working within their limited scarce economic resources the Government has allocated them. There is never a slow day for these heroes who do their best in circumstances where financial resources and built environments should be at least doubled to meet current demand. Don't complain about this service. Save your energy and ask the Government for additional resources to ease these workloads before we burn these lifesavers out. We need to save these lifesavers by directing our energy to the Government of today.

Everytime I've been to Flinders hospital, I've been extremely impressed with the kindness of the staff, and the treatment that I have received. Wait times could improve but that's got nothing to do with the hospital, rather the funding. I also know everyone talks down about hospital food, however I find it absolutely delightful, best cooked brussel sprouts around, lovely pudding and their shepherds pies are wonderful.

I haven’t had a stay in hospital for 30 years and didn’t know what to expect. To the staff in ward 5D and the team that performed my appendix removal I cannot speak more highly of each and every one of you. Exceptional care. Thank you.

Very impressed with fast treatment in Emergency when Triage saw low heart rate. Into Resuscitation and then Cardiac Unit. The pureed dinner I needed was fantastic.
I had a pacemaker fitted next day then transferred to FPH. Thanks go to all the staff for professional and friendly service at a difficult time.

I attended Flinders Medical Centre A&E, on the recent public holiday, with a suspected broken bone in my hand. At every step of the process the staff were efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. I was in and out after an X-ray in a very short time. Thank you to the staff at Flinders for working public holidays and making my experience a great one.

Public hospitals often get a bad rap, but my experience of the ED yesterday made me very thankful for Australia's public health system. Sure, I was there from 10am till about 5:30 but in that time I had exemplary care: an x-ray, pain relief, a MRI and a diagnosis of three broken ribs. All delivered with care and in an expected timeframe. The only downside was the opening hours of the pharmacy which meant I had to track one down on the way home.
Thank you kind nursing and admin staff and the treating doctor.

My 2-year old grandson spent seven hours in paediatric ED due to severe dehydration. His care was first-class and the staff providing his care were superb. Special thanks to Tia (area coordinator), Dr John, and to RN Hayley. South Australia is indeed very fortunate to have a world class facility staffed by a wonderful group of professionals. Thank you!
