Motel Woongarra

The new management here have taken such great care to enhance the look and feel of this motel. It’s looking and feeling lovely and fresh. We stayed in the family suite and it was very comfortable to share for two adults. Convenient location walking distance into town. Would highly recommend.

We had a wonderful time over Easter at this fabulous Motel. Perfect for a family getaway. We booked 4 rooms that were clean and functional and found the location wonderful for winery visits and a short walk to the main street of fabulous restaurants and shops. The pool was the highlight for our kids and Jo and Steve were most accommodating for all our needs. We will be back!

We hired 3 rooms to attend a family wedding across the road at the Winery and all I can so it "Wow".
Great value for money, super friendly staff and the cleanliness of the rooms and grounds was outstanding.

Stayed 2 nights at this fabulous property. Renovated with great attention to detail. Crisp linen, super comfy bed, and quiet airconditioner for 36 degree days ! The pool was a bonus.
Love the effort made by the new owners towards sustainability and recycling. Will definitely be back.

There are 2 motels in Rutherglen with a pool and this is the only one that can accommodate for a family of 4 (pretty standard I would have thought)! So if you have kids this is the place to stay, great pool and outdoor bbq/seating area. Accommodation is newly refurbished and exceptionally clean. Lovely owner couple who work tirelessly at their trade. They have that balance right between accommodating their guests and leaving you to enjoy your stay.

My family and I stayed in a Family Room. It was very clean, fresh and recently updated wonderfully. Such a pleasure on the long trip back to Sydney. Big bonus of a great pool. Highly recommend it!

Stayed here for 2 nights and found Jo & Steve very welcoming and a delight to deal with. It has recently been refurbished and the rooms are excellent & clean. The pool is lovely with a great BBQ area. We will be back and would recommend to anyone.

What a lovely clean, accessible to all the tourist areas in and around Rutherglen. The rooms offer everything you need for a stay, the swimming pool and area was enjoyable for our children to play in.
The owners are so friendly, helpful and run a professional motel I will be coming back and telling others to do so also.

We stayed here twice, as bookends to our holiday as we passed through the area. Very clean, well appointed room. Nice, renovated bathroom. Sue is absolutely lovely and very accommodating. Location is great, quick, easy walk to cafes and restaurants. Highly recommend.

Modern fittings and fixtures and comfortable bed and linens. Located just outside the main street so close to wineries and walking distance to shops and pubs. The owner and staff were lovely to deal with. Spacious and fairly priced. Very comfortable 🙂 could not rate more highly to be honest!

My wife and I stayed at Motel Woongarra for 3 nights in late April 2023, it was a very good experience, we have nothing negative to report, just take notice of all the positive things that other reviewers report, we think they are accurate, thoroughly deserved. Sue was a great person with whom to deal when booking (we always try to book direct), during our stay and on departure. It was good value. We hope to return later in the year with our bikes. Lovely Motel in Rutherglen with clean comfortable rooms and welcoming staff.
The rooms are big and sitting on the veranda or at the tables outside near the pool was the perfect place to eat.
Inspired to take a morning stroll I walked around the nearby lake and saw lots of birds and the interpretive boards
Next time I would walk to town for dinner rather than drive as it is close and make time to pop by into DeBortolis diagonally opposite.

What a beautiful and clean motel. Our was wonderful - clean and the bed was so comfortable. Ideal location - easy to walk to the other end of town for breakfast. We were warmly greeted on arrival and departure. Highly recommend Motel Woongarra. Feb 2023

What a great place to stay in Rutherglen! Sue and Mark were so lovely and accommodating and made us feel right at home. We were impressed with the rooms, very clean and spacious. The motel pool was very clean and well equipped with poolside chairs, a great spot to cool down in the 40D heat! Just a short stroll to the shops, excellent location. We will definitely be back Sue and Mark!

Friendly helpful hosts Mark and Sue made us feel so welcome, this motel changed hands in March 2021 so we decided to make a return visit. I suggest anyone else who had a bad experience in the past to give this motel another go. So close to town, wineries, great base for day trips to other great towns in the region. Spotlessly clean rooms.

Really nice motel. Recently fully renovated. It's always good to be able to have a good hot shower. This place has it.

We spent two nights in this excellent motel. We had a good sized room, which was well appointed, very clean, and seemed to have been recently refurbished. The bed was extremely comfortable and there was a good sized bathroom with a walk in shower cubicle. Darren, the host is very knowledgeable about Rutherglen and the surrounding area and was very generous is providing advice. It's in easy walking distance of cafes, restaurants and hotels.

Clean, tidy, comfy bed. Friendly staff… even put the heating on for us, so it can be warm for when we arrived. Now that’s service!!! Highly recommend staying here, I know we will again, next time we’re going through. Thank you!!!!
