A beautiful place to stop and spend a half an hour of your life and experience something unique and spectacular.

Even spotted a crocodile about half away along the walk.

Plenty of different types of plants , river/creek scenes, wetlands, and just a very special experience.

Free to walk in . Easy parking on the road. Probably best to try to avoid peak times.

It's a short and easy boardwalk in the forest. You will probably stop to take pictures, so expect to complete the circuit in 45 minutes - 1 hour.

It's plenty of biodiversity and you'll easily spot crabs in the mangroves.

This was a short chill walk through the daintree rainforest. It was rather popular and there didn't seem to be enough car spots for everyone wanting to walk but that was fine. It was beautiful looking at all the different plants and fan palms, I loved it! There were many signs along the way that had lots of information and what to look out for at certain times of the year. The mangroves were also really amazing to see too. Would definitely recommend this walk, its very easy and rather short so would be suitable for many people.

Stunning boardwalk through mangrove rainforest. Views of the trees and creek were clear and so beautiful. It isn't too long a walk so suitable for everyone. Lots of birds around too.

A popular destination as the small car park was full. A very easy and short walk through rainforest and mangroves via an elevated boardwalk, eventually arriving at a viewing area over a large creek. Cros have occasionally been spotted here. Information signs are all throughout. Highly recommended.

Very nice and easy broad walk. We were lucky to spot cassowaries twice. Try not to stay too close to them cause they can be quite aggressive. Definitely shouldnt feed them.

Beautiful rainforest with a great boardwalk, easy for everyone including disabled people, I walked through with ease on crutches, we even saw a wild cassowary here, one of the best highlights of our holiday to far North Queensland

Beautiful. Great place to see Cassowaries and other wildlife. One of the better boardwalks I’ve been on. Trails through a number of different biomes. Suitable for children or elderly.

This Daintree boardwalk features mangroves in a wonderful way. I appreciated the railing to keep my kiddos on the track and it felt very safe. I loved getting to experience the mangroves, see the fish, take in all the life ftom every angle.

Just lovely and strange tropical rainforest flora that you don't see in more temperate climates.

Really surprising how ethereal this place is. So many different elements in a rainforest walk to witness. Beautiful ferns nestled high amongst the trees, mangrove swamps and pristine clear rainforest streams blend beautifully as if the traditional owners were painting a picture.

Nice and easy walk through the daintree rainforest - wasn't too busy while we were there, but the best part was we saw a Cassowary nesting just near the path!! (a bit scarey too, given the reputation they have)

In the untamed wilderness of Queensland, where the ancient rainforest meets the rugged coastline, there exists a hidden pathway—an invitation to explore a realm where land and sea entwine in a harmonious embrace. Madja Boardwalk, a hidden gem in the heart of Queensland, would have undoubtedly beckoned the adventurous spirit of Anthony Bourdain.

As you set foot upon the weathered timber of the boardwalk, the earth seems to exhale beneath your feet—a soft, mossy whisper that carries the weight of millennia. The air, heavy with the scent of salt and damp vegetation, fills your lungs, invigorating your senses. It is here, amidst the convergence of land and sea, that the true magic of Madja unfolds.

The boardwalk meanders through a tapestry of lush greenery—a living symphony of ferns, palms, and towering trees that rise like ancient sentinels. The canopy overhead creates a cathedral of dappled sunlight, casting ethereal shadows upon the path beneath your feet. Anthony Bourdain, a connoisseur of hidden culinary treasures, would have reveled in the opportunity to explore the edible wonders this rainforest has to offer.

As you venture deeper into this verdant realm, the mellifluous songs of native birds guide your way. Rainbow-hued lorikeets dart between branches, their vibrant plumage a kaleidoscope of colors. Listen closely, and you may catch the haunting call of a distant curlew—a melody that resonates with the wild and untamed spirit of this place.

Madja Boardwalk is not just a passage through the rainforest—it is a gateway to a world where land and sea converge. The salty breeze tousles your hair, carrying with it the rhythmic symphony of crashing waves. At the edge of the boardwalk, the horizon expands—a panorama of azure hues that stretches to infinity. Here, the rainforest meets the rugged coastline, offering a breathtaking vista that elicits a sense of awe and reverence.

Venture down to the water's edge, where the intertidal zone comes alive with a bustling array of marine life. Watch as crabs scuttle across the sand, their intricate dance mirroring the rhythms of the rainforest. Wade knee-deep into the shallows, and you'll discover a thriving world of vibrant corals, darting fish, and elusive sea turtles—a reminder of the intricate interplay between land and sea.

As the sun begins its descent, casting a golden glow upon the landscape, find solace upon a weathered bench that overlooks the ocean. Allow the symphony of nature to envelop you—the crashing waves, the rustling leaves, and the distant cries of seabirds soaring overhead. Anthony Bourdain would have relished this moment—a chance to reflect, to connect, and to appreciate the profound beauty that unfolds when man and nature coexist harmoniously.

Madja Boardwalk, a hidden pathway through a world of wonder, invites you to immerse yourself in the untamed beauty of Queensland. As you traverse its wooden planks, may you encounter the unexpected—a fleeting glimpse of wildlife, a profound connection with nature, or even a hidden culinary gem. It is through exploration and open-hearted curiosity that we truly savor the essence of a place—a sentiment that resonates deeply within the soul of Madja.

The boardwalk was a quick little loop which was nicely built winding through the forest. Super peaceful and popular!
