Golden Boat Chinese Restaurant

Dined here for a Sunday Yum Cha after highly recommended by locals. Very impressed by the service, the authentic selection of yum cha menu and good value compared to some overpriced restaurants I've been to in Cairns. Cant wait to go back for dinner.

My all time favourite dim sum place. This is my third time to visit, the quality of foods are consistence and yummy as always! Now the places in cairn with serving dim sum are very rare. However, they are still doing really good job on it.

Came for lunch with the family on our holiday. Food was pretty good and the atmosphere good too.
Located on a perfect spot so you can’t fail to see it driving from the airport to the downtown Cairns area. Very tempting. We were pleased with the quality and service. Food was served relatively quickly and the prices quite reasonable.

After years of refusing to eat here (totally undeserved and clearly an ignorant belief on my part), my family and I came for CNY eve dinner.

To my absolute surprise and eventual delight our dinner was the highlight of the day.

We had a live coral trout cooked with soya sauce and shallots. It was flavoursome and the left over sauce...well let's just say there wasn't any left over.

This was followed by lobster on Tong hun (glass noodle) and salt and pepper lobster both were delicious.

The glass noodles alone had a morish taste that kept you coming back for more. Too bad after serving everyone there was no more :(

A token sweet and sour pork for the kids was standard.

Next, watercrest (Kang Kung) stir fried in fermented beancurb paste. Yes I know, doesn't sound like something you'd actually order let alone eat but again the chef delivered a top notch dish that was easy to swallow.

The meal was topped off with the chef's special golden boat seafood tofu. This was the crowning jewel of the night. Who would've known that tofu could taste this good.

Happy to stand corrected on my previous stance about golden boat. Currently, they top my list for the best Chinese food in Cairns.

Wonderful meal, quick service. We ordered special fried rice, honey chicken and Mongolian beef plus beef spring rolls, vegetarian spring rolls. Very tasty and enjoyed by all. Exceptional staff.

Friendly service and delicious food. We had vegetarian spring rolls. Then sweet and sour pork. Chicken stir-fry with cashews and rice😋

Freshly cooked and delicious. The manager is a very kind and looked after us well. The roast duck is so crispy outside and tender inside.

Eat here all the time, never disappointed even when I order certain things it’s always correct! Food is amazing.

I go here with my wife and a group of friends every second week or so for yum cha. The food is delicious and they allow 'off the menu side orders. The staff are amazing and attentive, our drinks are served as soon as we sit because they know us so well. The food arrives promtly and is always hot and scrumptious and authentic Chinese cuisine. A great restaurant that caters for locals and visitors.

Had a wonderful feed today. The food is yummy and the service was wonderful. The staff are friendly. The food came out quick as was delicious.
