Our new favourite restaurant in Cairns. Food was exceptional, service outstanding and drinks at Esters bar next door fabulous before our meal. Can’t fault it. So pleased Cairns has this establishment. We had the braised octopus and cured salmon for entrees, coral trout and flat ironed wagyu for mains.

Soma Restaurant is in a group of 4 Food and Beverage outlets in the Chambers complex, crnr of Lake & Spence Streets, Cairns.
This is your more formal style restaurants with good service and mindful waiting staff. Everything was prompt and served with ease. Menu on a higher price level, than most in town, but the options chosen tonight were certainly worth it.
An entree of Pork Belly; was two large pieces(which one could have had as a main course) was being shared by the two of us. Absolutely Devine.
Mains ordered were a Reef and Beyond; a large variety of seafood, including bugs and a small lobster tail, my partner enjoyed immensely, And I tried the Barramundi Two ways; a portion of very crispy pan fried fish along with Yam mash on plate, with a portion of Ramen noodles & Barramundi in a (?) Broth, and both were delicious and a new twist on dining. The setting in an old corner bank chambers complex, has given the atmosphere some talking points. Overall very good and we'll return for certain.

For the price, my meal was average. I had the vegetarian meal. The inside area was noisy despite it being very empty. I wish restaurants would build the inside with ambient noise in mind. Id prefer no music at the dinner table.
The staff was lovely and friendly. Drinks list also amazing.
