Fantastic food. We tried the okonomiyaki, yakisoba, takoyaki, and karaage bowl and loved all of it. I had been craving good yakisoba since being in Osaka 3 years ago and this place was very satisfying. Attentive service, particularly for my partner's allergies. The owner was very kind and welcoming — felt like old friends instead of customers. If you ever end up coming to Canada, hit us up!

Very authentic and delicious made to order Okonomiyaki (Japanese pancake). Their mains are only starting $10 bucks in big portions making them the perfect place for your everyday lunch.

The owner is very welcoming and friendly! It is worth going back again if I have the chance.

We were only in Cairns for a couple of nights, and each night we just wandered around looking for somewhere to eat. Stumbled across Petit Japan.
We ordered vegetarian yakisoba, vegetarian gyoza, and vegetarian omurice and it was all absolutely delicious. The owner was super nice as well. Great little place with a lovely story. Definitely check this place out if you're in town!

It felt like I was being welcomed into someone's home. The food is lovingly prepared and it shows. Hands down the best Japanese food in all of Australia! The omurice was so well done. The curry was hearty and delicious. To top it all off, our two meals and the side of takoyaki were only $30 AUD. Excellent experience, I'd love to visit again!

Wow, I was very impressed with this place. Decided to give it a go due to its high rating but I was skeptical of how authentic the food would be. I ordered the Japanese curry with karaage chicken lunch special and my husband ordered the Takoyaki and karaage chicken. The Japanese curry is hands down one of the best Japanese curries I have had outside of Japan, it tasted very authentic and the karaage was cooked to perfection. Don't let looks deceive you, I would definitely recommend this diamond in the rough.

Cute little cafe in Orchid Plaza with what looks like a really authentic Japanese diner menu, alongside some more recognisable stuff for the unadventurous like fish n chips. The okonomiyaki was such a generous portion and really tasty. Can't wait to try more menu items!

Great place to have lunch for under $12 in Cairns. The quick, Japanese street style food is yummy and we had their desserts (Matcha cheesecake and Green Tea Smoothie) that was really good! Will definitely go back

Travelling with my Japanese friend through Auckland Sydney and Cairns this was her favourite that tasted most authentic and mine to. Great food and great prices. If you're in Cairns and love Japanese food definately give it a go.

One night in Cairns and we happened upon this great little restaurant in a quiet arcade, away from the hustle and bustle of the Esplanade. The gyoza were fantastic and the okonomoyaki was the best we've ever had. Aurelien, the owner, told us with pride how everything is made to traditional Japanese recipes at very reasonable prices. Thank you for a lovely meal.

Had a great experience tonight with a mate, and a great chat afterwards with the owner. The atmosphere is always friendly and light, and if you're a diehard fan of simple and tasty Japanese meals, you can ditch the conveyer belt sushi for something more familiar. Definitely recommend!

Authentic japanese food, very good customer service would compare eating at home as it is osaka street food, the owner is very friendly and accomodating would reccomend to anyone to dine at as it is a very relaxed place :)
