Cairns Riki Japanese BBQ Restaurant

The food was incredible, super fresh, incredible flavour and a great variety on the menu.
The service was friendly, helpful and quick.
The atmosphere was awesome, sitting in a traditional Japanese booth setting.

Cant wait to return and try the rest of the menue.

We have been coming to this restaurant for over 4 years. (We make any excuse we can to drive the 3-hour round trip from Julatten.) The owners and staff are all beautiful people, the food is delicious, and you always leave smiling, happy, and very, very full. This is my favourite restaurant. Please do yourself a favour and come here.

We were seated on the balcony and to our surprise there was air conditioning out there and it was quite nice and cool.

As there is a bell on each table to call for service, getting the attention of staff is quite easy.

We ordered multiple dishes and they came in a reasonable time (unfortunately I forgot to photograph everything that we got).

The food was of high quality and everything tasted amazing.

If I am ever back I'm cairns, I will definitely revisit this place

Authentic Japanese BBQ, a little pricey than we expected, but overall speaking, we really enjoyed the dinner. The BBQ was a proper charcoal BBQ, with every bit of charcoal properly lit, giving it a very even heat distribution, making it much easier to cook. The Wagyu beef was nicely selected and sliced, combined with some extra charcoal flavour, I felt that it couldn't taste better.

Lovely warm space accompanied by attentive and wonderful service. The staff were welcoming and kind.
We opted into the BBQ menu from which we chose butter corn, fresh cuts of pork belly, bone beef, duck and squid. We drank some sweet plum wine with dinner which was yummy also. It was all super fresh and tasty. 10/10 recommend!

The food here is exactly in the same quality as the food I had in Tokyo a few years ago. If your budget allows, definitely go for the Wagyu beef as you’ll be surprised how tender the meat could be.

The BBQ experience was awesome. The selections of marinated meat was full of flavour & very delicious. You can request to change the selection of meat to your preference. The Karaage chicken is a must try...cooked to perfection, crunchy on the outside and juicy in the inside. Lovely staff & owner very accommodating. Great atmosphere & a great dining experience.😊

We had fantastic experience here during our holiday at Cairns, definitely go for A5 Wagy, melt in your mouth, good value too. sashimi was so fresh and delicious, staff were very friendly. Everything was wonderful, highly recommend!

We were so happy that we came here for dinner! The atmosphere is lovely, service is wonderful and we had the best dinner! Can’t wait to go back the next time we are in Cairns. It is a little expensive but 100% worth every cent! Can’t wait to return.

12 months since we've been here for our last anniversary, the highest grade Wagyu and sashimi wasn't available which it was last year, but that did not take away from the exceptional quality and the chef's knowledge, presentation and absolute love for what he does. This low key spot is top of our list as foodies. We would not go anywhere else for tepinyaki, thank you for your incredible hospitality. Cannot wait to be back again.

Still the only Asian charcoal BBQ joint in Cairns, and still worth going out for. Ownership has changed hands since my last visit, but not much else has. Good food, good service and good value.

We went on weekday but unfortunately waygu beef all sold out . So we left without dining in but surprisely the next day (Friday)we received a msg from the restaurant said the waygu beef had stock up do we wanna to book in (good communication and service)

We order sashimi ,Saba(grilled fish),tempura as entree to start with

Than BBQ section we order waygu beef set menu(worth it,not expensive),plus extra crocodile meat,pork neck(yum),beef tounge (so tender)must try!

For 4 of us,we walk out with a very full tummy,dint expect the serve was big👍
