A little gem in Newtown. Food was authenticate with spice level just right. Good drinks menu. Arrived during happy hours so that was a bonus. Kids enjoyed their mocktails. Pay cash and you get a discount.

Hands down my favorite Malaysian restaurant now! Food was authentic and sensational! loved all the dishes I ordered, especially the satay chicken, buttermilk cereal prawn, soft shell crab laksa. Will definitely return soon.

We loved our first lunch here, the staff are lovely, the ordering is easy, the food is fresh, authentic and comes out fast. The seating is comfortable and the overall atmosphere is sunny and just chilled. We enjoyed the crispy egg-yolk prawns especially. HIGHLY recommended and thank you guys, see you again soon! 👍

Attended a friends birthday, so we were in the rear elevated dining area, and it was so HOT I thought I was in Malaysia.

There was an air con, but it was NOT enough to cool the area, and the staff didn't seem inclined to turn it up with all the additional people!!!!!????

the table ordering system works ok, but honestly, quicker, cheaper, and easier just to run down and place order and pay.

Food came out and was very attractively presented and was as enjoyable to consume.

Crab Laksa was a very common choice but needs SAMBAL to be truly flavouful and like you would expect suitably spicey. This, however, doesn't come automatically with laksa but has to be purchased at an additional cost...?!! Why not provide it, and if people dont want it too spicey, then dont include it.

I would return as laksa was nice, and crab made it feel like a real treat but would sit downstairs where it may be cooler. Keep an eye out for specials once on the mailing list as it can save you $$$

Update... returned with a large group for crab laksa and air con STILL not sufficient. The food is great but not comfortable on a hot day!

I recently visited a Malaysian restaurant and was thoroughly impressed. The customer service was exceptional, and the interior design provided a cozy atmosphere. I especially loved the extensive bar with beautiful cocktails and mocktails. Highly recommend for a fantastic dining experience!

I had an incredible dining experience at the Malaysian restaurant. The customer service was outstanding, and the interior design was inviting and comfortable. The highlight was the authentic Malaysian cuisine that transported me straight to Malaysia. Although the signature Bak Kut Teh was sold out, the other dishes I tried were superb. Next time, I’ll makesure to be quick to savor that dish. Highly recommended for both the ambiance and the delicious, authentic food!

We ordered lunch special laksa beef and seafood , chicken rotti . The food was delicious and presentation is beautiful . Staff was very professional and caring for our needs . Strongly recommend !

Delicious restaurant for fulfilling those Malaysian food cravings! The soft shell crab laksa was brilliant - incredibly crunchy and fresh soft shell crab, and great value with the generous stack. The hainanese chicken was pretty juicy and the roti canai had the perfect pull apart flakiness to soak up the delicious curry sauce. Lastly, the beef rendang nasi lemak and satay skewers also had all the expected great flavours. My family and I all felt super satisfied with our meal.

As a fan of Malaysian cuisine, I was excited to try their Chicken Laksa, and it taste so good. The fragrant coconut milk added perfection and paired wonderfully with the spicy Sambal. The dish also included a tender and flavorful chicken, which added a rich and aromatic element to the meal. The restaurant's ambiance was cozy and inviting, and the friendly staff made the dining experience even better.

Really recommend the lunch specials considering inner-city prices have been increasing so much lately. The chicken laksa was incredible, such a generous portion and the use of chicken breast is amazing! Liked how my laksa had a combination of noodles however, one of the laksa’s we received had a significant more amount of spice than the other which was disappointing as one ended up being perfectly spiced whilst the other had no flavour / spice whatsoever. Other than that, amazing and will be returning for the $13 lunch special in the future.

While exploring some of Sydney's best, I had the privilege of stumbling into Uncle Joe's Malaysian Kitchen.

The staff are very friendly and I was amazed how attentive they were along with the owners. Many dishes were tried and not one tasted or was presented anything less then perfection.

Highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a real fill on Malaysian Cuisine. 💯

Had a family dinner here last night. Was very tired and thus had a hankering for comfort food, and being Malaysian myself decided to have a go... and glad we did. Had the Nasi Lemak with Beef Rendang, a side of Roti Canai and for a bit of decadance, Soft Shell crab Laksa. My son had the char koay teow (which i had a little taste of).

The taste was GREAT. Im a fussy eater and like my Malaysian food authentic. I would describe the meals and overall experience authentic comfort food with a great dining in experience. Good Wok hei, deep flavours, full tasting Sambal, not that slop Paparich tries to pass off as sambal.

Portion sizes were big! Couldnt eat much more. Couldn't decide if i wanted to drink the last bit of laksa soup!!!

Sensational! Can not fault this place, great service, great flavour and perfect location! The roti is great for an entree, and I can highly recommend everything else on the menu! We came here on the Anzac Day long weekend and were back a week later! Do yourself a favour and go here! Lots of space for prams and kids to eat.

👌 Some of the dishes I think you HAVE to try include the Beef Rendang, the Salt & Pepper Squid, the Boneless Chicken Wings, and the Crispy Jumbo Prawn with Salted Egg Yolk. That was probably my favourite dish from the night 🤤🤌 I also really enjoyed the milk tea here too🥰

We loved the food so much that my husband, son and I, came out with food comas (compliments to the chef). The dishes were so on point you just want to keep eating even after you’re full. It was such a treat to be transported back to Malaysia, even for just a couple of hours. We’ve really enjoyed the atmosphere and the super friendly staff that we are most likely to come back with family and friends in tow.

Authentic Malaysian cuisine in a chill environment. The food was nice especially the fried noodles, the portions were also huge. Will visit again!

Me and hubby visited during lunch time, we really enjoyed our food. The portion is quite generous and all the dishes are flavoursome. It was such a hearty lunch.

🍜 Soft Shell Crab Laksa. Love the creamy spicy coconut Laksa broth with mix noodles, that served with delicious umami crispy soft shell crab
🍝 Char Kuey Teow with Beef. Always love this classic dish, perfect blend of smokey, tangy, and nutty flavours
🍤 Crispy Jumbo Prawn with Salted Duck Egg Yolk. My all time favourite dish. Always love the taste of salted duck yolk meets the light and crispy jumbo prawn. Absolutely delicious!
🫓 Roti Canai with Curry Sauce. Another favourite dish! Love the flakey and soft roti with tasty curry
🫓 Roti with Condensed Milk and Nutella with Vanilla Ice Cream. Crunchy and sweet, perfect dessert to end our meal

Tried out this Marley restaurant during our kids school holiday trip in Sydney recently. We are a big family that have diverse taste buds. Uncle Joe’s dinner menu made all the foodies a happy night. We went back again after the skii trip before heading back home to Qld. Thank you for the lovely service and the fantastic meal!
Chinese grandma likes the chicken curry. Singapore background hubby likes everything.
Kiwi boy likes the combo fried kway teow and the seafood dishes.
Oz girl likes the wonton soup and chicken curry wth rice.
I like the combo Laksha and the drink too. It is the hidden selection at the back of the menu. The seafood tastes great too.
The fussy foodies looking for the next visit when we go to Sydney.
One more thing, the staff are so handsome and pretty looking lol. The way they speak to the customers make you wanna go there every week.

We had the soft shell crab laksa and hainan chicken dish, both did not disappoint!
Laksa was amazing very traditional and a decent serving.
Will definitely recommend this place!
