Nelson Bay Boarding Kennels

I can’t praise this place enough. Philippa is wonderful and so astute with dogs. Her helpers are equally lovely. Whisky loves going there for a play. She is a large young Groodle and she has learned to be more gentle with smaller dogs when she is allowed with them for a visit or has a blast with equally energetic dogs her own size. She comes home exhausted which we love because it gives us a day without the two walks but mostly we can watch the pictures the next day and marvel at the fun she is having! The dogs are separated into groups which is great for safety and have a rest which is also fantastic because they can’t physically play for a whole day. I don’t know how we would manage without this place. We are very lucky to have it in the Bay!! Mostly Whisky gets so excited when we arrive there: that says it all.

Having recently discovered that Four Paws (aka Nelson Bay Kennels) now offer a full grooming service I booked Tali the Cairn Terrier in for a ‘full service’ as he was starting to bear a strong resemblance to a miniature yak, with a distinct sand and seaweed fragrance from being on the beach. When I collected him I thought I had a different dog! The groomer, April, had done a fantastic job on him (I gave her an annotated photo to work from) - definitely the best groom he has had from anyone around the Bay, and apparently he loved the brand new hydrobath that Jon and Phillippa have installed! His only regret was not being able to play with the boarding dogs after his groom, but he did get a nice run beforehand apparently.If you are looking for a good groom for your dog, get down to see the great team at One Mile.

You won't find better carers for your dog. Great people and large facility. They are extremely polite and caring humans, who treat owners with sensitivity and trust about their precious pooch. You know your dog is in good hands when the staff are so genuine.

Our mini schnauzer (Oscar) had his first ever day care day yesterday. He came home happy and exhausted. Trying to get him used to being in a boarding environment to ease him into our longer trips away and very happy with Nelson Bay Boarding Kennels thus far.

Hi , My name is Milo, I'm a 6 year old schnauzer and I had my very first kennel stay at Cubbin's over the school holidays, I had no idea what was happening ( nobody tells me anything!) and I thought we were all off on holidays for a fine old time. Imagine my surprise and horror when I got dropped off at Cubbins, I mean hello, I like my couch during the day and choice of bedrooms at night. I stayed a week, it took a while to acclimatise but after a couple of days I got right into it. When my owners finally turned up a week later I was happy, well fed but nonetheless wanting my couch. I'm going again at Easter and positively looking forward to it, woof woof

Rescue pup stayed 6 nights (first time boarding) and despite some seperation anxiety appeared to have had a good time. Appear to have a good schedule involving play time in a medium sized yard, plus short walks around the area. I don't think he got as much excercise as I'd like, though for the price I can't complain.

Excellent place to board your pooch or to.leave for a day care. Be warned our dog sleeps for two days after a day care because she has so much fun.

Great staff who care about your pets. Daily pictures on facebook is such a lovely treat. My dog is happy when we go there and is well looked after.

Owner is a vet nurse. Very professional. Wolfgang and Ellie always come home very happy. We have used their services a few times and have been very happy.

A very well organised business with extremely friendly staff. Our Cavoodle had full groom & the groom was very good. Recommend highly.

Absolutely can't fault robin and the crew at Cubbins! The groomer there has done such a great job on my little Moodle after he had gotten a terrible job done somewhere else. Thanks again guys!
