The Rocky Cauldron

I spent a few hours here with my son exploring the rock pools and finding life throughout, like little fish, crabs, and sea slugs.

The views are stunning, especially at sunrise and sunset.

It's not the kind of place you go to swim or sunbathe.

Access is by an unsealed road by conventional vehicle as long as it's not too low. It says 4wd access only but in good conditions it should be fine

Bring good shoes and water, and a bag for all the shell treasures in the shell sections, which are full of shells between complete and fine sand.

I'm absolutely going again

The road there is signposted 4wd only, but at the final 4wd carpark was a Hyundai i30 and a Nissan Elgrand. The second half of the road (4wd) is little worse than the first half (2wd). This might change in the wet or if it's been a while since it was last graded, but it was fairly tame when we went.
Anyway the beach is great for rock pools, teeming with sea life. A great place to take kids if they like rock pools. The currents and tides have made some really interesting rock formations, with channels that burst with waves at low tide and are filled at high tide.

Very rocky

This was a very nice walk. The drive in was very nice. there is a car park and the walk is only a couple hundred meters to the cauldron.

Looks great for snorkeling!
