Loved the combination Laksa. Got the spicy 🌶 version and it was great. Went in on a Tuesday afternoon for lunch at around 1pm and it wasn’t that crowded. Friends ordered the crispy chicken spicy version and that too was advised as great. The service was quick. Best to have a cold drink to settle the spice.

Was planning a trip to the city and knew I had to stop at Laksa King again. I don’t come all that often, but when I’m feeling like something packed full of flavour, this joint hits the spot. There are a number of items on the menu, but obviously laksa is their speciality and it doesn’t disappoint. I had the prawn, but they’re all good.
The setting is humble, so don’t expect a fancy setting. It’s good classic Malaysian, served hot, tasty and fast. Just keep in mind that there can be queues at lunchtime so come a little early or a little late. Enjoy!

Solid Malaysian cuisine here at Laksa King. The Chicken Laksa was tasty, but could do with more embellishments, like a half hard boiled egg, or a bit more fried tofu. The Char Koay Teow was delicious, with 6 generous king prawns. Must come back to try their other street foods. I think their wat tan hor will be awesome too. Well done Laksa King!

I had the crispy chicken Laksa which was great. The Laksa broth was very good, but not the best in my opinion. You can decide on the level of spice which I liked.

I don’t usually venture much into this part of the city, but I can see that’s about to change. My first visit to Laksa King was a delightful experience. Very friendly and helpful staff. I ordered the Skinless Chicken Laksa, and I was asked if I wanted it spicy. Of course I said yes, but never fear, it wasn’t too spicy by my standards. Very generous tender chicken, great noodles, excellent fried tofu and a laksa broth with loads of flavour. I couldn’t have hoped for better. Staff were happy for me to take some photo’s and wander around. The owner James was happy to feature in one. He was also happy to have a chat and give me a digest version of the social and cultural history of the area. What a delightfully engaging and interesting man. A sociologist’s dream. I’m looking forward to my next visit, and to do as James suggested, and to venture a little deeper into the menu.

This is my favorite place to get Laksa in the CBD. I tried the fried wantons this time and they were great too. The laksa gravy was creamy and flavorful, and while I wish there were more than 2 half-pieces of puffed tofu, this place is generally generous with their noodles and sliced chicken. This laksa is the closest to my favorite laksa in Singapore, for what it’s worth!

Super busy, so go early, or prepare to wait but fantastic place for Malaysian and worth it! I had the har mee, deeply satisfying soup and generous amount of meat/seafood. Everything is very efficient so might be best as takeaway if you can't manage to grab a table. The ticket system works well though.

Authentic Malaysian restaurant that has been there for years. Cheap, fast, friendly and very tasty. My yellow noodle with prawns was excellent and it has one of the best laksas in Sydney.

The name certainly fits the experience and food!! 👍🙌

I had a super complex order, and the lovely guy who took my order was very accomodating and friendly, I really appreciated his service 🙏

The seafood/wonton laksa is delicious - the soup is so yum! They also have a great Sambal for the laksa, and their steamed wontons in the soup are so tasty 😋

I also had the fried wonton entree, they were really light and super crispy and the filling is yummo 🤤

This is one of my top 3 laksa joints in Sydney, and I’ve been to heaps… it’s my fave food 😂🥰🥰🥰

Busy popular SE Asian eatery, featuring such dishes as beef rendang, roti, delicious laksa.
Tried ‘combination laksa’, pictured here. Arrived just at the beginning of the lunch crush, and got one of the last tables; after that there was a good sized line up. Looked like takeout window was doing a good business at the street side lineup.
Ordered medium spicy; so my soup spoon came with just the right amount of chilli paste to warm me up on the sunny but chilly and windy winter day. Enjoyed every drop of the tasty broth. Generous portion.

Great laksa, one of my top laksas in Sydney CBD! You can choose your laksa as mild, medium or spicy too! Service is quick and friendly. Love how they don’t use disposable bowls and cutlery when dining in.

The only thing is though, no split bills which can be an inconvenient when dining with a group hence please be prepared accordingly. I hope that they’ll consider to split bills (i.e order & pay first when dining in) in the future!

Taken me a while to get down here as I've been frequenting two other city laksa joints. Must say it was worth the wait.

Broth was delicious (definitely go for medium spice) and it was overall put together well. My only gripe is that the serve could include some more egg noodles and meat.

I went early (1130am) to beat the rush and it was already pretty busy.

They have a myriad of other Malay dishes but I only came for the laksa but would like try a roti canai next time as well.

Worth the effort of you're in Sydney CBD and looking for that laksa hit.

My favourite city lunch time venue to get excellent Malaysian food. My favourite dishes are the laksa Noodle Soups and the chicken curry. So good.
They moved next door during lockdiwn so have a brand new dining in area and take away counter is a windows at the front if the shop. New venue, same excellent Malaysian food

Bustling place with amazing laksa, great for quick warm lunch in a cold rainy day.

In lunchtime the place gets completely packed with people standing in queue to order food, picking up takeaways, or waiting for a table.

The food is always prepared quickly - no more than 5 minutes.

The laksa had impressively well balanced broth, and generous helping of seafood and meat (I had combination). I've noticed that they used lots of vegies that hasn't been norm for laksas from other places I've been. Soup had pleasantly smooth sweetness to it, which I think is coming from cabbage and carrots they've used. The topped seafood was fair bit colder than the soup, which suggests that it was cooked separately from the soup. This was a slight turn off for me but this is a restaurant turning around great number of people quickly, so they probably needed some efficient prep process.

If the restaurant was less chaotic, this place might be more recommendable to others. The experience can be a bit overwhelming for those who just wanted to have a meal at a restaurant. It feels more like a small food court.

Overall, if you love laksa, you must give this place a try, and it will be well worth working your way through all the people.

Spicy BBQ pork Laksa was simply superb. The staff was very kind and Madre sure to explain the various spice levels they had. :) After they served us, the staff came to us and enquired if the spice level were good enough. Such a lovely gesture.

We tried the stir fired beef and basil too. It was good but not good enough when compared to the Laksa.

Great seafood laksa with a sambal that actually has some good spice. A great CBD lunch spot -

Although I'm known for going to many different Malaysian Restaurants, the Laksa King proves to be a great choice Good food, friendly staff and quick service
