Summer House Backpackers Cairns

I stayed here for 3 nights and it was one of the best hostel experiences I've had! The vibes are amazing, the pool, the bar, the restaurant and the people made my stay. Great place to meet new people and party.
But most of all, I was welcomed by the friendly receptionist Michele who when seeing I was travelling solo, upgraded me to a private room for my entire stay for no extra charge! Can't thank him and the rest of the staff enough.
Would definitely recommend anyone staying in Cairns to come here.

Best hostel in Cairns! The vibe is amazing, they have activities every day, a beautiful pool and also buses to the city every hour. Staff also is very nice specially Martin and Michelle 😃 Would recommend this place 100%!

Great stay at Summer House in Cairns.

The rooms are very pleasant, as are the various services available: volleyball, swimming pool, mario-kart, board games.

The shuttle bus and free bike are great for getting around town, as the hostel is a bit far from the city center!

Special mention to Martin, who was very friendly and helpful.

The hostel was very nice, Martin helped me at the reception a lot of times, with a very good willingness to help me and explain all the facilities of the place. The hostel has a bus every half hour to go to the city, bicycles to ride, nice breakfast and pancakes on Sunday, everything free!! Super Recommended!!

I loved the place and the people there. The vibe between the guests is great and the staff is amazing. It has lots of facilities and the beds are confortable. Best hostel I’ve been in Australia so far. Big shout out to Michel for his catalan and Martin for his kindness!!

Stayed in a double bedroom en-suite for about a week. Kept having to extend our stay as we were planning our next adventure in Australia after finishing our east coast tour. Michele was more then helpful making sure we were comfortable and the room price stayed within our budget. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for something short to medium term. And are looking for a good group of people to share your adventures with. This hostel has tons of activities throughout the week, budget tours, free bikes, free shuttle bus, free breakfast, and much much more! Loved the bar and the happy hour deal, plus you’re right next to the pool where you can play volleyball! Would defo recommend this place again! Thank you team!

Really friendly staff!! Super clean rooms and kitchen, a lot of nice offers such as free breakfast, free shuttle to the city, free bike, much activity’s and a cheap bar for some nice drinks. Staff was really helpful and gave us a free upgrade to a privat room as well helped us with everything we needed. Would definitely stay there again!

I loved it. I had stayed in Cairns before and did not enjoy my stay in the city. This hostel is close to the city yet not in the middle of the noise and mess which completely changed my appreciation for Cairns. The hostel shuttle is amazing and FREE! Goes into the city and back every half hour and works till late.

One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in. Service is amazing, all the staff is really friendly and helpful at all times. Shoutout to Fernando on the bar and Martin on reception. More than being really helpful and friendly, they go beyond to make this experience one of a kind. Definitely recommended 😍

Michele has been nothing short of amazing at helping us book out perfect stay. He informed us of all facilities and activities going on at the hostel, provided us with everything we needed and more. The hostel is great itself - the kitchen and bar are excellent. Very clean and friendly. Would recommend for anyone who’s wanting a sociable experience!

Great hostel. Social atmosphere, but not too ‘party’. Quality of the food and prices of drinks are good. Lovely pool and clean and tidy throughout. Very well run, kind staff - on my second stay there I was even upgraded to a private room (thanks Liam!)

We were well taken care of the moment we checked in to the hostel! The staff are lovely and the hostel has many daily events, as a hostel should. The amenities are awesome, from daily shuttles into the city centre and free bicycles. The food at the restaurant was also surprisingly tasty, as hostel restaurants normally aren’t!

Beautiful place! The attention 20/10, wonderful customer service also the place is wonderful, clean, attentive with the guests! Super recommended.

Great mix of people and good atmosphere.Happy hour is $5 jugs of beer. Good food options. The location was pretty good. They provide transportation closer to town and the receptionists were also helpful and nice. I would recommend.

I stayed here for a month. It really feels like home with a nice swimming pool, good beds, cheap drinks and a good vibe. You guys are the best!

Comfortables rooms, with lockers to store my things safely. Shuttle that takes you to the night markets. Good bar/restaurant, with a very good bartender and 24/7 reception services.

Nice place to stay rooms all have air conditioning . Staff are very welcoming and plenty of amenities on site.

I was recommended to stay at Summer House and I have stayed there twice now!
Each time I look forward to seeing the friendly staff, enjoy a free breakfast and get a good nights sleep! The hostel offers free shuttles into Cairns centre and also has a beautiful outside space. The bar on site is reasonable and serves good food however I never have an issue cooking as the kitchen is big and always clean.
