I would recommend Max aquarium to both beginners and advanced fish keepers. Everything he stocks is good quality, he has products you can't get elsewhere in North QLD and he will answer all of your questions. He also won't sell you things just to make money and will tell you if something is a bad idea for your tank and explain why. I also like to take a minute to admire the immaculate displays whenever I stop in because they are great inspiration for my home tanks and beautiful to look at. Especially the reef tank in the back.

This is the best Aquarium store in Cairns, it is well layed out and maintained. All fish look healthy and vibrant. They have a great selection of fish, plants and equipment. The gent working was very helpful in answering all of our questions. Will definitely be back 🙌

Spectacular little aquarium store. 100x better than any other store in cairns. Prices are reasonable, and they have a good range of tanks, foods, heaters etc. Fish are beautiful and healthy. Tanks are spotless with everything a fish could want and the whole shop is clean and tidy. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Couldn't fault a thing. I will definitely be going back to get fish in future!

For years i tried to order Raphael catfish without success around Cairns. Max aquarium always gave us hope and finally delivered me 2 x perfect Spotted Raphael's which are showing great signs of assimilating with all my large bottom catfish. Our favourite aquarium shop by far.

Wonderful hidden gem. Very healthy fish, a nice selection of fresh and Saltwater fish, aquascaping and general aquarium care. Will definitely be shopping there again. Oh and the staff are very polite, knowledgeable and helpful.

Great advice, clean and easily accessible shop situated central to Cairns and surrounding suburbs. Max & his team have started a really good marine & freshwater shop that has all equipment, foods and stock - most importantly advice that regular people can understand.

Knowledgeable, and all stock is very healthy. Max has some good aquascaping bits and pieces, and some mosses and shrimp too. Best in Cairns for that stuff, and will help you keep the plants/fish happy and healthy when you get them home too! A+
