Wongabel State Forest

A beautiful walk in Mabi forest just off the main road. It's a very easy 2.5 walk on a well defined track which rises and falls gently. Lots of bird song but hard to see them as the trees are very tall with lots of places to hide. Do look out for fungi on the rotting wood and tree trunks. We saw dead man's fingers for the first time here. There's also a shorter loop of about 750m.

Great place for a quick stroll through tropical rainforest.

Really loved the walk in this State Forest. Trees are labelled so quite educational.

Great for birders and dog walking

It's a nice area to be able to take dogs on a walk that is in the shade and a bit of a different area. When we went, the path a bit rough and they have pretty big pebbles making up the base which did make pushing the pram hard going at times. Definitely worth going although it can get very humid ... but it is basically a rainforest

Nice quite little spot to stop to take a quick rest from driving or have a picnic if self contained very shady & there is quite a tame resident bush turkey wondering around.
