The Happy Fryer

I've been here a couple of times already. Each time, the food was fresh and delicious, even half an hour before closing time. The dinner packs and seafood platters are great, and the coleslaw and garden salad are amazing. Portions are generous, so you won't be hungry after finishing your meal. The staff is friendly, and the place is quite clean. I can definitely recommend it.

Got a gluten free chicken parma box with chips and salad. Pretty good and quite reasonably priced.
This will be my go to meal from here for now on!

Omg, I basically don't eat takeaway anymore, as it's often too hard to find safe gluten free options. Not only was there many safe options for me, but the food was really tasty too! Highly recommend.

There are gf options on a separate menu at the Happy Fryer. Its so scrumptious. I am Coeliac and I haven't had fish and chips that tasted so good in ages and gf too. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this place. We actually had our food there but takeaway is available too. What a great night with the men in my life. Fantastic fish and chips, super fresh and perfectly cooked. Highly recommend the crumbed snapper, garlic butter calamari and beer battered chips. Snapper were nice, thick pieces, perfectly crumbed and cooked - best fish in years! Thanks guys, keep up the great food and service 😊

The crumbed and grilled fish is also very good, as is their calamari.

Absolutely amazing food and great customer service. They offer a really decent gluten free menu and it tastes no different to the regular menu, which is sometimes hard to come by. Highly recommend and would happily get my take out from them again!

Saw an earlier review which said the owner treated junior staff horrendously. Our daughter works there and has been treated wonderfully by the owners - it continues to be a great first job experience for her. Added bonus is the food is great - the chips and coleslaw in particular are favourites in our house!

If you're looking for a great fish and chip shop, this place is amazing. Perfectly cooked and reasonably priced seafood. Aioli is clearly hand made with a fresh garlicky flavour. Food made incredibly fast considering how many orders they put out in the time I was waiting. Don't expect instant food in peak food times, but do expect delicious food that makes the wait worth it.

Best calamari in Brisbane, cooked perfectly and the chips are nice and crispy. My fish was cooked to perfection as well. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Definitely going back there when I'm anywhere near there next.

Separate gluten free fryer and gluten free menu. I can eat here as a coeliac which is AMAZING!

I have found the perfect chips at a fish and chip shop. They are always perfect! So crispy but creamy on the inside. I've got a few times and they have always been consistent.

Have ordered from here 3 times now via Uber Eats and each time got a great amount of food! Food actually arrived hot and was tasty each time. Had the Chicken Shnitty and Fish Pack. Definitely will be back

We went on their second day of business and they were busy but handling it well. The Calamari here is easily the most impressive, biggest and tastiest I've ever had. The chips were cooked and seasoned to perfection and the fish servings were massive. Easily the best fish and chips we've had in a long time and excellent value for money considering the serving sizes. Glad to finally have a decent local fish and chip shop!

We ordered via a third party delivery service. The food was amazing (and all gluten free). The delivery service didn't send a driver, so the restaurant recooked our meal so it was fresh once it got to us. Amazing customer service and incredible food. We will definitely be repeat customers!
