Spencer Suites Albany

I'd give more than five stars if I could! Location is perfect, close to town but not on the highway. I didn't notice any noise from the nearby pub even though there was live music Sunday night. I absolutely LOVE old buildings and the owners happily accommodated my request to shift my booking from Suite 4 to Suite 3 to be in the heritage building. Beautifully and sensitively renovated to give all the creature comforts whilst retaining character. Kitchenette is well equipped with microwave, toaster, kettle and sandwich press, and the coffee plunger was supplied with good quality ground coffee (I am fussy about my coffee).
Jigsaw puzzle and a few paperbacks were a welcome addition to amuse myself.
I had an issue during my stay which was entirely of my doing and the owners were very responsive and helpful. I would definitely stay again when returning to Albany for work or leisure.

Location very good especially the proximity to "The Earl" oub which does the best beer and food on the planet. Rooms vary, i feel, we were in Suite 2 which looks like one of the smaller rooms. WiFi had a fault while we were there but the public holiday made it hard for the very responsive owner to fix. Would stay again.

Quaint old building converted to holiday rooms , our suite had bedroom , lounge/ kitchenette & bathroom. Very suitable for a couple. Centrally placed & next door to the Earl of Spencer, a real pub with character good beer & food

Really great rooms in a converted 1880's house. Provides a great, comfortable stay and is, literally, about 100 steps from an historic pub which serves great value and tasting meals. Handy if you don't want to avail yourself of the basic in room kitchen.
Nothing to dislike and we'd happily stay here again.

Cons:
WiFi is very slow
The bathroom was quite cold on a morning
The kitchen area could do with a hot plate given its size

A very comfortable stay in Albany, highly recommend!

Very nice self contained apartment in a historic old building within short walking distance of town and the shops, marina, bars and restaurants. Quiet with lots of parking. John’s communication and help was spot on

A fantastic location, and a great base to see what Albany has to offer we had a peaceful and relaxing stay. For Self-Catered accommodation the owners communicated well and we had a seamless experience this all in addition to the room looking gorgeous and being cleaned daily. Cannot wait to visit Albany again this place is the top of my list.

Wonderful two night stay in Suite 4 after completing the Bibbulmun Track. Glorious corner spa bath, Netflix and very comfortable queen bed. Very clean and well equipped 😊

We have just had the pleasure of spending four nights at Spencer Suites. These rooms have been beautifully renovated and are a delight to stay in with all the facilities required for a comfortable stay. Our suite consisted of three rooms - a kitchenette/dining with all the basic kitchen items necessary including a microwave and small fridge; a good sized bedroom with large screen TV, wonderfully comfortable bed and plenty of room for our stuff; the bathroom and separate toilet (yay) are of good size and two people can easily be in there at the same time. John came to introduce himself early on in our stay and to check that we were happy with everything. The suites are well located and a walk into town to enjoy a restaurant if easy. We highly recommend a stay at the Spencer Suites and advise you to book directly with John rather than online through other means as he really appreciates it, and deserves it. We look forward to enjoying their hospitality if we visit Albany again.

Owners are great and very helpful in every way. Rooms are sensational. Well equipped and clean. The Cottage no.4 is a private oasis.
Centrally located, walk everywhere and the best pub in town, The historic Earl of Spencer is but a minute walk away. Locals are just friendly. Our favorite part of our 4 week trip....

Stayed 2 nights here, the rooms are clean and beautiful, location was great, owners John and Lynette were friendly and helpful. The self check-in and check-out process was seamless. The place is just a stone throw away from York Street, the main area with all the restaurant and eateries. It's also just a couple of minutes walk to the coast where the entertainment center is. Overall, great place to stay for a short trip to Albany!

Stay one night and loved it. Pros. Rooms are perfect for a great nights sleep. Very clean and has every thing you need for short to mid stays. Close to town easy walk. Owner is a good man very helpful. Cons. Only stayed one night and had no problems.

Great short stay in a delightfully renovated historic house . John and Lyn our hosts were very friendly and helpful. Excellent location, we would be happy to recommend to friends and will definitely be back ourselves when looking to stay in Albany.

We new we were going to love the next couple of nights as we pulled up at the Spencer suites. Built in the 1890s and nestled right on the path this historic building oozed charm. John the owner met us out the front to show us in and give us a quick tour. We had suite 2 a charming queen room tastefully decorated with an ensuite and kitchenette. There was a little eating area with dining for two and a couple of comfy chairs in the bedroom. The flat screen tv was above the very cosy bed that was topped with fluffy down quilt and luxurious linen.
The suite was warm clean and comfortable with original squeaky polished floor boards that added to the charm.
We were situated close to everything especially the best pub in town. The Earl of Spencer Hotel was next door ( no noise even on a busy Saturday night) a fantastic historic pub our local for dinner both nights. Cosy wood fires live music and a great crowd average age 50 but that is another review.
We had a fantastic time in Albany and that was due to our stay at Spencer Suites.
We will be coming back ... highly recommend
Note: being such an old building there is one step down from the bedroom to the kitchen and ensuite that may be a bit of a problem for some. I have a broken knee and could still get up and down with caution (especially after coming back from the pub) but there maybe other suites that are easier to get around just ask on booking.

John greeted us on arrival and was most helpful. The unit was part of a beautifully renovated old cottage with all the modern conveniences and right next door to the "Earl of Spencer" - a delightful old pub.

Central location, super cosy and comfortable.

On a self drive holiday - this was perfect in everyday. Parking and the after hours check in was easy. Room was luxurious and all that was expected. I expect to visit again and again.

Great space, well set out, and great thought has been given to the little inclusions. Enjoying our stay and will definitely be coming back again.
