Amazing dinner! Every dish from start to finish was well executed and presented. We had the seared scallops, just cooked perfectly. The steak and grilled line fish were cooked perfectly, the sides paired very well. The dessert, bread pudding was stunning. We would lobe to come back again. Service was very good considering only one waitress. She was friendly and warm, checked in on us frequently. What a great find in this small town.

Excellent bistro run by a lovely South African couple serving modern French-style cuisine. The ambience is smart, with dark, moody colours, and a large well-stocked bar. Lovely food, attractively plated, based on Australian and local area produce.

Beautiful space which drew us in before even perusing the menu.
This is an absolute gem in the heart of Albany.
The prawns were amazing, the sauce was so good that we ordered the bread to mop it up and that too was delicious!!
The seafood pasta was absolute perfection with a generous amount of seafood and the most beautifully perfect sauce, the best I've ever had!
The fish was served with a beautiful, delicate sauce that really complimented the dish.
The only negative unfortunately was the crepe dessert, which was very average as the crepes were swimming in a burnt tasting orange sauce but the phenomenal starters and mains will have us returning any time we are in Albany.
Overall a very memorable dining experience.

Sat upstairs which was spacious and had good atmosphere with a few other diners but wasn’t crowded. Food was fabulous- onion soup, sardines, steak, duck, crème brûlée and choc tart. Service from James the Swede was of the highest order, polite, attentive, discreet and friendly. What a brilliant dinner.

After hearing rave reviews about Majuba Bistro, we finally decided to experience it for ourselves, and it exceeded our expectations! Jess, our host, was superb, and the meal was truly exceptional. The fish and duck mains were generously portioned and beautifully presented. Meeting Chef Trafford was a bonus. Overall, it was a fantastic evening, and we highly recommend Majuba for anyone seeking a top-notch dining experience in Albany. Louis and Michelle

The food was absolutely sensational. We asked for a vegan dish, and the chef came up with a new recipe as there was none in the menu. Their customer service was excellent.
Thanks for a great experience!

Wow

Someone nice to eat in Albany for a change.

Went here for lunch which was all round excellent

Starter was the sizzling prawns. We had to ask for bread as the butter garlic sauce was epic

I had the hamburger which is one of the best I have had in a LONG time. Tasty and then some. The frites were quite thin and I could really appreciate the duck fat or rosemary

My wife had the French onion soup and loved it

The wine selection was decent for once not a usual Albany menu of $5 wine for $50 a bottle.

Service was good

Very happy

French cuisine that is superb. The decor and ambience of the restaurant was fabulous too. My husband had the Bouillabaisse , and I had the Pork Belly, both were the best we have ever had. 5 star 🌟 we will definitely be back.
Love love love this restaurant 😍

On Holidays from VIC dropped in for lunch on Saturday and what an experience.
Best meal we have had on all our travels. The gnocchi with wild mushroom and truffle was delicate and perfectly balanced and the garlic chilli prawns impeccable. So good was the food we ordered desert and the crème brûlée superb.
Worth detouring or staying in Albany just to go here. I seriously don’t think they know how good their food is.

Love love love the menu, simple and well executed. I had the Seafood boullabaise, fresh scallops prawns and fish in a aromatic stew, I could have literally locked the bowl had the place not look so fancy. We also had French onion soup, duck l'orange, meat falling off the bone finished with crispy duck skin and sauce, line caught snapper in cherry tomato and citrus dressing and mussels au frites - all amazing 👏 want to go back again already

Visited Majuba for the first time this weekend (my wife had been previously) and it was a fantastic dining experience. Sadly we had had a sizeable lunch, so I didn't go for any starters, but the mains we ordered (line-fish and gnocchi) were sublime, as was the dessert (creme brulee). Ok, fair warning, it is incredibly French in the cuisine it offers, and the kind of creamy, buttery dishes may not be for everyone. That said, the meals are perfectly balanced and the principal ingredients are treated with respect. Thoroughly recommended.

From the moment we walked thru the doors we were welcomed by the friendly staff and felt the French vibes of Majuba Bistro. The dark moody colours are relaxing and calming and the photography is awesome . The food was fabulous and we cleaned our plates. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and recommend making this a must visit for your dinner date in Albany.

Exquisite. I am reading some other reviews. Perhaps a one off bad night here and there…. or some people don’t actually recognise quality food and how it is prepared. Our experience was faultless. Keep doing what you do Majuba. A clear stand out dining experience.

Wonderful evening. We were passing through and had been recommended to try Majuba by our hostess at Chimes Spa in Denmark. We were not disappointed. The service was excellent. The food was superb especially the dark chocolate torte. I would definitely recommend you take the time to dine at this establishment.
