Simply put - outstanding coffee every visit!
I've lived in Cairns since 2006 and experienced most of the cafes up here at one point or another.
The Sipping Duck has been a fixture of the burgeoning coffee culture in Cairns for around 10 years now. I've personally been a customer at 'The Duck' for over three years, visiting twice or three times each week. These guys manage to do almost the impossible producing excellence each and every visit regardless of whom is making my coffee.
They are so good that I've contacted the owner and inquired how as to how they make coffee this good so consistently. It's all down to the training apparently, and they run barista courses for anyone, so I think I'll be signing up.
Whilst there are certainly decent baristas and cafes in Cairns, no-one comes close to the consistency and excellence of these guys. When you've cultivated a caffeine dependence like me, it becomes an important part of your day to start it right every time. Do yourself a favour if you love the best coffee in the region.

Visited this coffee shop because I was attracted by the special latte art on the coffee. A bit disappointed when I saw the coffee. However the coffee tasted good and the staffs were friendly.

Excellent coffee. A great place to spend time waiting for an appointment. I especially liked the iced coffee I had (with ice cream). Friendly staff too. If using the toilet, just don’t pick up the key to the ladies if you want the gents. It’s a long walk back to get the right one. :-)

Really excellent coffee! We are spoilt for choice in our home town when it comes to coffee, but this coffee would please even the most snobbish coffee drinker.

The barrister was very friendly, knowledgeable and made great coffee.

Some of the best coffee in Cairns. Usually buy my beans from here for home use. You get a free coffee when buying a kg. They use really nice milk.

Sensational coffee and a helpful and enthusiastic team. Sweet range of both food and drinks and lots of coffee related toys and take home products. Convenient airconditioned location, plentiful street parking and chilled yet attentive vibe.

Easily the best coffee around in my opinion. My latte has a deep coffee taste and latte art always impresses.

One of those rare places where the roast, coffee, food, staff and environment are spot on, everytime single time. I've been going there for years and won't stop anytime soon. The only time I've been disappointed is when they are shut and I buy coffee elsewhere.

They roast their own beans, awesome strong flavour without asking for a extra shot. Have honey for those who don't want cane sugar.

What a hidden gem, excellent coffee & the most delicious banana, chocolate, walnut bread, all cakes made fresh on site.
