My goodness. What a night, what a place. Tony from The Backlot Studios was incredibly kind, present and helpful through to whole process of putting on our short film pre screening. They’re a true supporter of the independent film scene in Melbourne, making this top notch space available at a fantastic rate. Our guests had an incredible night, we’re truly thankful to the guys at Backlot for making such a memorable evening possible.

Couldn't be happier having the cast and crew screening of our short film at Backlot studios. Tony is such a great host and did everything in his power to make it a memorable night and ensure it all ran smoothly. We'll definitely be back in future. I heartily recommend it as a venue for filmmakers and small film festivals - the prices are also incredibly reasonable.

Tony, the host, is an absolute superstar, A-Grade, 5-Star service, arguably the best screening venue I've ever had the pleasure of participating in! Highly recommend. Melbourne needs to hire this place more often and put it on the priority list. A genuine cinema experience, in a prime location. Can't thank them enough. *****

A phenomenal venue with an incredibly generous and facilitating host. We hosted a screening night for our short film, and the evening couldn't have gone any better. Had a great experience at Backlot last night. The whole service from start to finish we had with Tony was perfect. I screened a short doco and was able to go down the day before test it all make sure it worked and then on the screening night Tony was a great host behind the bar with all of my guests. Highly recommend.

We used both the cinema and lounge bar settings that Backlot Studio offers and were very impressed. The lounge bar has a large amount of standing space for people to mingle, as well as a sufficient bar for people to grab drinks. The cinema had gold-class type seats making the movie we watched a very comfortable event. Additionally, the screen and sound in the cinema room was of extreme quality. We were helped by Tony throughout the entire experience, and he was an absolute hit with all of our guests as a result of his likeable and approachable personality. Tony made the process seamless as he was very friendly and flexible.

Tony and his team at Backlot are exception to deal with. The facilities and hospitality, technical expertise and communication all first-rate. Highly recommend for any industry screening events or as a corporate workshop/seminar space.

Had a screening of my short film here. Was absolutely incredible. Amazing sound system, 4K digital screen. Seats are comfortable with plenty of room for up to 40 people. Spent time in the lounge/bar area with a great selection of drinks and snacks. Tony was superb with communicating and testing the DCP before we screened our film. It was also VERY cost effective compared to other screens around Melbourne. Will definitely be going back there to screen more films for sure.

A fantastic venue for private screening.

Tony was able to accomodate us very last minute for a Bucks party, and we couldn’t have asked for a better venue. Professionally run, magnificent atmosphere and a brilliant screen with a tremendous sound system. Highly recommend for any small-medium sized event requiring the big screen.

Nice place for parties. Small screen for movie, but it's quite good for parties. Comfortable seats to enjoy the movie. I love the ambience.

Sometimes they get greedy and turn the air con off, do ask the person at the bar to turn it back on.

An awesome little Theatre. Perfect for corporate functions private screenings and the like. There is parking in the front, limited to about 12 spots. Picture and sound quality was excellent, 7 you were seeing a movie there.
