The Cassowary Restaurant

We stayed in there resort and to be told by making a booking for tonight. In Daintree, we do not really want to out as it is dark and we are tired after a whole day tour. So it is a convenient choice and the restaurant building looks attractive.

We love the foods in here. We ordered crocodiles spring rolls and garlic mussel as entree. Curry and the seafood risotto as main. We almost licked the plate (actually we did). The garlic mussel was really tasty I can say it is the best I have ate in Far North Queensland. The crocodile spring rolls also very hot and crispy. And following by the seafood risotto I literally tell my partner I would like to go back to this restaurant because of the risotto! It was so yum!!! However, the curry was a little tasteless, it was not that outstanding. Because of others foods are so good so the experiences was balanced.

And the another day we went back for breakfast,
Cause we were in rush for the tour so we don’t have a chance to take a photo of the breakfast, it was also awesome for breakfast. We ordered Big Brekkie and Egg benny.

The service was very nice and attentive and quick. Nothing can be fault

Contrary to other reviews, we had a fantastic experience here. The staff were extremely friendly, service was prompt and the food was really quite good.

The croc spring rolls are definitely worth a try, chicken curry was quite mild but still very nice and the seafood marinara was excellent with a generous amount of seafood in sizable chunks. The geeen mussels filled out a good two thirds of the shell, octopus, squid and prawns all cooked perfectly and not at all chewy.

The kids each had burgers and were extremely happy with them and the chips were nice and crunchy on the outside and melt in the mouth in the middle.

If we're ever back in this neck of the woods again, we'll be returning for sure.

Stayed at Ferntree for 3 nights. Breakfast and Dinner menus were excellent, food was well prepared and presented. Barramundi tasted amazing. Staff were very friendly and happy to help and chat. Only issue was inconsistencies with content of fruit muesli bowl-ordered twice very different content on 2nd bowl and not value for money.

This has to be the best restaurant I’ve had so far, I’ve been living in this resort for a while now and this food has been consistently pulling me heart towards their amazing food. The staff is super friendly and their a good to have a quick chat with. Overall this is a really nice place and I highly recommend it.

INCREDIBLE.... Out in wilderness and here's this incredible menu, wine list, breakfast, coffee etc, great music/atmosphere, pool table, friendly waitress. I ate here for dinner last night and breakfast this morning. Really enjoyed and relaxed. Booking is essential.

Located inside Ferntree Rainforest Hotel.

Amazing spot for dinner, located in the rainforest it's a great setting. Food was great (Mussels, crocodile spring rolls, Barramundi and steak). Servers were friendly and would highly recommend.

The cassowary restaurant was a stand out! We had both breakfast and dinner on a number of occasions and both of us were very impressed by the service, food quality and value. For dinner we shared the platter on both occasions and could not get over the quality of the meat. Our only disappointment was that we were not staying another night to just order the kangaroo as a stand alone dish as we loved it so much on the platter.
Highly recommend this place!

The amount two of us ate and drank for the $100 mark was amazing.. But that's not even the best part, well priced is only half the story.

Staff are exceptionally friendly, they were keen to make sure everything was perfect which it was.

Trio of dips is great, someone can cook bread to perfection, loved the Olive dip.
The seafood platter for 2 was outstanding, the Chef can cook everything to perfection, I hope they are looked after well. It's about 2 feet long and the very large portion of fish was so nice, crunchy skin and tender flesh. Calamari isn't some frozen rings but beautiful large cuts. Steak, wow. Kangaroo yum. They even peeled the prawns.

Going back for breakfast in an hour, exciting.

I almost cancelled my reservation when i read the negative reviews, but went anyway. We had dinner and had the bruschetta, the veggie curry and the mushroom pasta, it was delicious! The food and drinks are fairly prieced. The staff was friendly too. We would go again!

Amazing platter for two, so worth it. Freshest and most perfectly cooked barramundi and calamari I had in Far North Queensland. We sent our compliments to the chef and James was the best host who does it all.

I had curry and my wife had linguine. Very good. Service fast and friendly. Beer also very good.

Took the family for dinner. Very affordable and we'll presented. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Great atmosphere and the food was delicious. Carnt wait to go back to try the Aussie platter.😁 Had drinks by the pool very relaxing environment Great for people who love nature and all it has to offer. Real jungle Vibe.

Beautiful location and gorgeous wooden building with the option to sit inside or outside. I recommend the Aussie tasting platter! So worth it and perfect for two people.

Couldn’t be happier with the new Chef! The best calamari I have ever had, not to mention a perfectly cooked steak 😃 Fantastic service as well. We will definitely be back.
