WHET Cafe Bar Restaurant

We’ve visited this restaurant several times over the last four years as we live locally. We knew it’d recently changed owners so we were curious. We weren’t disappointed, had a delicious lunch and the rain forest surrounding is beautiful. The Chef is an experienced lady so she absolutely knows what’s she’s doing. Still our favourite place to eat in the Daintree.

Pesto baked barramundi was lovely!
Overall atmosphere was great!

Hidden gem. Unexpectedly amazing food. Had the burger which was awesome and the barra and chips. So delicious that we’ll be back next time. The bar is pretty cool too and the outdoor dining area is the perfect setting for lunch.

Wow! For a place of the grid & self sufficient the food is amazing, what a hidden gem. The steak sandwich was one of the nicest ever & I don’t know what they do with their fries but they have to be the best I’ve had anywhere, especially with their tasty BBQ sauce. Also had an Asian bowl, full of flavour, nice & zesty, was transported back to Asia, so authentic. Went down great with a crisp draught beer. Well done to the couple who run this place!

The best lunch we had on Daintree. The vegetarian curry was good though not as hot and spicy as they warned. My wife and daughter both had Buddha bowls and the Mediterranean was the favorite over the Indian.

We stumbled into this restaurant in the “middle of nowhere “. Break beer, pasta, fish and service.

They did make one mistake and didn’t charge me for a beer!

A nice place to stop off for a delicious meal with the family. Kid friendly. With beautiful views of the vegetation around daintree, this is a stop worth making for a family get together while on vacation! We enjoyed the food and excellent service from staff.

Very nice and secluded with live music sometimes the pizza and ambiance is very nice. A classy place in the jungle with functionality to boot.

Really yummy feed of fish & chips (both adults & kids). Good value across the board, great venue and friendly staff. Worth a stop for a feed!

We booked a table for dinner (definitely recommend booking ahead!). Service was very friendly and prompt even though they were busy. I ordered the fish, and the Mrs ordered the ramen. Food was great! Would definitely go back again for dinner.

Had the crocodile entree, pan-fried local barramundi and prawn linguini. All amazing food, great atmosphere and fantastic service!

Amazing food on a beautiful deck. So glad we stopped here. The best lunch of our trip by far.

We did a day trip to Cape Tribulation and stopped off for lunch at Whet Restaurant. Wasn't sure what to expect but the food was soooo yummy!! Simple but absolutely delicious. The home made bbq sauce was the best I've ever had and I will be ordering some online. Also had the best cocktail here, we were raving about it for days after.

This was a gem of a find! What an awsome place, the setting with super friendly staff was great. They had a really great selection of drinks and then the food was really on another level. This place could hold his own on any street with other top restaurants! This is a must when up there.

Our family visited Whet restaurant in the July school holidays and it was incredible. The food was so tasty we went back two nights in a row. They were super busy but we didn’t wait long at all for our meals. I’d recommend them and hope to one day visit again next time we’re on holidays

Staff is amazing and very attentive!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ They were kind enough to stay open late 3 nights in a row for us. Opened the kitchen back up and happy to feed us. Drinks and food and super tasty 😋 atmosphere was super cool. A definitely must, pizza, fish, and lasagna all fantastic.

In the middle of the jungle you find this hip restaurant. The fries are amazing and the fish is a must-try.

What Beut little place !
Thanks to the two English lads at front of house who were doing a great job with running around with a large influx of patrons when we meandered in one lunchtime. I was a-little worried the wait time was going to be an issue but a perfectly made hot chocolate straight of the bat then soon after an amazing beef burger ( loved the chilli jam ) best chips too ! The potato/ coconut curry wasn’t as liquidy as I though it would be but made up with flavour ! Wowee !! Great place to sit and relax. Shout out to the chefs too !

I love this place! The vibe is fantastic, the staff are beautiful, it's definitely a great place to just get some delicious food in the Daintree! I would highly recommend the chicken curry, yum!
