Hog's Breath Cafe Cairns

I had the Prime Rib with Garlic Prawns sided with chips and salad. The steak was very tasty and melted in my mouth and the prawns were cooked to perfection. The food was great but the best part was the service - the wait staff were friendly and helpful but the Manager was very attentive - checking everyone’s meals after a few minutes of you receiving them. I also noticed he stopped and talked with an older couple who wanted to have a chat. Very much recommend.

Oh no! This steak is absolutely incredible! Even my steak-hating friends devoured it faster than I did! The restaurant atmosphere, customer service, and the sheer deliciousness of the meal were absolutely flawless. It truly touched my heart! Initially, I only took pictures of the food for amusement, but I never expected to actually share them! The only downside is that since we're from Darwin, we can't enjoy it frequently, which makes me feel both anxious and melancholic.

Went for lunch, haven't been Hogs Breath for years. Staff were lovely food was good. Very clean restaurant, which was nice to see.

I saw a few reviews that said it was bad since new ownership took over but I still wanted to give it a try. To be honest it wasn’t bad at all very similar to the one I grew up with in Adelaide. Meat was cooked well service was very lovely and good come out in a speedy time. And the bathrooms were really nice and clean which is a bonus.

We were a table of 6 served by Astherith and she was amazing! 🥰 The food was so delicious and we ordered appetisers and mains, so good man! 🫠 Definitely going back.

Great service, great food. Thanks to the staff at Hogs Breath in Cairns FNQ. We were served by Leoni and her customer service was truly exceptional. She was very helpful when she seated us, recommended the specials and made sure our order was correct. The food arrived very quickly and and it was very fresh and cooked perfectly. I had mentioned that it was my partners birthday so they had surprised us with a birthday cake which really made her night special. A big thanks to Leoni and all the staff at Hogs breath. We will definitely be back again :)

Ok I don’t often write reviews but this place deserves it. I’ve enjoyed nice cuts of beef in Europe, all over the US and Canada…. This place had the literal BEST prime rib. I decided to try something different and go with the blackened Cajun seasoning and it was to die for… SO good!!! The calamari was great too. And so excited my fav désert sticky toffee (date?) pudding served too! 😍 Thank you to all the kind and friendly staff for making our last dinner in Cairns so lovely. Also, big shout out to Crystal for taking care of us and making our dinner such a wonderful experience too! 😊 💯 recommend this place!!

Best steak house in Cairns ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Prime rib is very soft and tender, sirloin is very full of flavour absolutely love the bits of fat there and my favorite sauce would be the mushroom sauce. Buffalo chicken wings is also fabulous ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Totally recommend ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Excellent friendly service. Meals were great and the proportions huge so be aware you may not finnish your mains if you order a entree. Great little restaurant.

Food was amazing as always.. Service also Top notch very lovely staff... Waiting time wasnt long atal.. Reasonably Priced considering we got starters mains and deserts... One of my Fav Places to Eat... 10/10

Cairns is a tourism spot that lots of restaurants are tourist-oriented. We understand but we believe Cairns Hogs breathe does good balance and take good care of local people too. Appreciated!!

I stumbled across a nice little gem. Food and service were great. The atmosphere is quite quaint, so get in early so you're not waiting for a table. Prices are very reasonable as well. Mains were the stand-outs. Desserts 🍨 🥧 okay.

We had a lovely evening here.
We had the sirloin steak, the vegan schnitzel wrap, juice and a cocktail.
As a vegan with a non-vegan partner it’s so nice to go to a meat place that has so many vegan options!
The staff members were super nice and helpful, the atmosphere was awesome!! We didn’t want to leave.

Incredible prime rib. Traditional size was huge but I couldn't help eating 2 of them! The blackened flavor added a surprising umami dimension to an otherwise already fantastic steak.

Orange and pear salad was great too.

Given the largely negative reviews in the last 2 months I have to say we were really happy with both the service and food. Yes it may have lost the previous vibe but we went there because we were hungry and it ticked all boxes. My steak was cooked exactly how I like it and my child's meal was freaking enormous and 100% excellent value for money. You don't walk away hungry that's for sure. I ordered the salt and pepper calamari as well and omg so fresh and cooked perfectly....not chewy at all. Very happy well fed family here 😊

We had a great family lunch here, 5 stars. We're locals and were looking for a fun family lunch. Great service, kids meals ( x 3 - burger, nuggets, mac n cheese) were great. The mac n cheese was the best ever! ( true American style) great curly fries, adult Troppo Burger yum, and steak w garlic mushrooms. A great meal, atmosphere and service.

This place is underrated ! Has the prime rib and it was one of the best steaks I’ve had in a while.
