Seafood Platter @ Mount Gravatt East

This place doesn't look like much. It's in bad need of a good renovation. However, the food is really good, and that is what matters. The chips are how I decide how good the local fish and chip shop is. I was a little doubtful, based on the look of the place. But the chips were perfect - crispy on the outside and perfect on the inside. No greasy fingers at all. You don't get a lot for your money, but the cost of food everywhere is expensive. A hidden gem, and worth a visit if you're in the area. Very busy, so the locals know something.

We had snack packs, great value, great service and great taste. Was not greasy or oily, potato scallops were great as well with a nice light crispy batter. Will definitely be back and recommend it.

Great food from a truely nice bloke. Kim is very warm & friendly and filters his oil twice a day to make sure it is always fresh. Potato scallops made from fresh potato.

Stopped in for a late lunch and ordered the crumbed fish and chips for 9.99$. It was made to order and arrived promptly, and was very tasty. I'll go back!

My absolute favourite fish and chip shop. Nothing compares- all around, seafood platter is a fantastic shop! Great pricing and sizing of deals/food. The food is always deliciously cooked. Fast & friendly service everytime for years.

Been going here for years. It’s our little secret fish and chips shop, however; I owe them a review. Great value, even better quality. Kim and his family run a tight ship, great little family business. Only quibble is they close on Sundays, which is often the day we’re craving their chips, calamari, potato cakes etc. They do a mean hamburger. Highly recommend these guys.

I first starting having fish and chips as a kid in 1988 at this shop.

It's gone up and down since with the different owners.

As of early 2012 I finally decided to stop wasting my money here for good. Beer chips ARE good. Burgers are now nasty. Barely any salad. Barely any pattie!! Prices were up every time I went in. Fish was really bad last time I had it. BUT it was normally OK in the past ( maybe the one occasion I got a bad one?)

Please post if they have changed owners or have improved their menu (so saying the owners and all staff are very friendly and nice) would bring your meal out to you if your waiting outside, instead of just leaving it go funny in the hot box. I thought that was good service.

My god the burgers are fantastic now. Seriously i don't know what they have done. But i can eat it once a week no problems. And want it again the next day.

Seafoods good too!! Ive changes them to 4 stars as they deserve it.. lose a star as they close to early.

I want more burgertime!!! (Just being selfish here)

Absolutely love this place! We are locals and won’t go anywhere else if this place is closed! You get value for money, the potatoes scollops are super yummy, fish always cooked beautifully and the chips are delicious!

Best calamari cooked so perfectly and tender. Chips were well fried and crunchy too. Owner gentle man who served me was very friendly and kind too. Thank you!

We have had a standing weekly order for fish, chips and calamari for years.
The seafood is always delicious and the chips are cooked in top quality oil.
Added to that, the owners and their staff are such nice people.

Ok so it’s not boujiee and a “brand” like most food places are famous for these days- but it’s just… the best.
So cheap for quantity & quality, little tables outside to eat at, and super nice staff.
Definitely my favourite fish & chip shop around, back to basics, simple, homely and a great deal.

My family and I just discovered Seafood Platter. I think this place will become our new family favourite. Service is excellent, great value for money and the owners are friendly. We had seafood and it was delicious with the sweet potato scallops are must! I highly recommend – you will not be disappointed. We will definitely be back to try their burgers!

I've been coming here for years but never ordered a fish burger, I ordered a barramundi burger tonight and it was absolutely delicious. Can't complain when they put the entire massive fillet in the burger. Good stuff.
10/10 would recommend.
