Situated in a well protected landscape from the winds that can get strong, the sites are well positioned for privacy and easy access to amenities.
With just a few meters away from the trail access points.
Large firepits make for a cozy night settled in after a day of hiking.
Plenty of wildlife come through into your camp to visit, so keep your tucker tucked away safely.
Thumbs up here on a great campground 👍😍

My first camping with a family if four. Amazing place, quiet most of the time, untouched and full of peaceful wildlife. We stayed in campsite 12, which is small but protected by shrubs. We have taken our sedan car and it was ok. Weather changed quickly from warm to cold and rainy so plan accordingly. We have taken cooking stove, portable toilet and a gazebo along with usual stuff. Nice place for beginners

We camped at campsite 12 which was perfect for us as a couple. It was a fairly private are despite being close to the the bathrooms and other camp spaces. A lot of the camp spaces in this campground are connected to another, but this one wasn’t. We were visited by two friendly kangaroos. It was a small space but could easily accommodate a family.

Nice campground with reasonably large sites, big concrete fire pits. Big mob of very placid kangaroos hanging around on the large shared grass area. Certainly not a remote or isolated camping experience- there are other people around and noise from adjoining sites does carry a bit. Seemed to be popular with young families. Great for a little Fleurieu getaway.

Pretty campground with a great mix of camp sites, large and small. Many are grouped in pairs with a single pull-through road. These sites are relatively close together, so best suited for a large group. All sites have large fire rings, but visit between May 1 and October 31st if you want a wood fire. The noise of boxes getting tipped over in the middle of the night is kangaroos getting into your food, unless you secure everything properly. The 3.6km (each way) hike to Deep Creek Cove is well worth it.

We stayed at campsite 12, it was flat, close to the long drop but also has privacy. The trail to the waterfall was a bit challenging for me (I don’t do exercise), could be fun for people who are into hiking.

Incredible scenery and friendly local wildlife, we had an unforgettable stay in mid September. Joeys in every pouch, echidnas and shingleback skinks just a short walk from the campsite.

Quite a peaceful place to camp at, with views towards the ocean and kangaroo island.

Great camp ground with many sites and shared sites that allow pull through of trailer in most cases. Some sites are very large but not all sites. There are lots of walking trails nearby but shopping is a trip in the car. The ranger visited three times during the day which is wonderful and the reason for the fifth star.

Great location if you want to be tucked away from the rest of the world for a little while.
Even better if you’re into hiking! The 10.9km loop from Trig Campground certainly isn’t for the faint hearted (we underestimated it) but worth it for some stunning views pretty much the whole way!
The campground was great. Our site was technically connected to the site next to us - we got lucky as nobody was staying there, but if it was occupied I think there’s enough space in between them you’d barely notice they were there anyway. The amenities are nice and central and suprisingly clean for a drop toilet - which is always a bonus! We also managed to get a slither of 4G (Telstra) there too which is not a necessity but kind of a bonus I guess.

Easy to get to, plenty of wildlife and walks from the camp ground down to the Cove. Plenty of open space plus wind protected campsites.

Perfect spot for families and large groups. Each campsite at pretty close to each other but some are more private than others, it's ideal for large group though. Great access to Heysen Trail and other walking tracks. Kangaroos everywhere, toilets are clean, fire pads are large and there was a farm near by that sold firewood. We will be back.

Great camp sites, been there 4 times with the kids. Best times to go and enjoy are during the week and out of holiday times when it can get a bit busy and noisy. Great walks, beautiful scenery. Great for the kids to kick a ball or play some cricket. Drop toilet s do the job.

Cheap great and is smack dead in the middle of all the other camp sites so you can drive there all within 10 minutes or so

Brilliant campground, paid entrance see parks SA, 4 long drop toilets, and an untreated rainwater tank, each campground had a firepit, big oval to play around in. The ground was soft to put tent pegs in without a hammer
