Super friendly staff. Heard we were running late to the ferry and gave us two burgers for cheap. Didn’t take our order, just slid us two burgers and charged us lower than anything on the menu. Also tossed in a big batch of chips. Made our day

First meal after returning from KI to Adelaide by ferry. Fantastic service in this 1980s-themed hotel restaurant. It reminds me of the song 'Hotel California.' The service is exceptionally friendly, and the lovely service lady provided complimentary bottle of spring water with ice in the glass. The Thai food is delicious and expertly prepared. My children like the food here.

Awesome staff. After traveling from whyalla I arrived just after kitchen closed, no problem said the chef. Great staff and the food was sensational.

Best chips we have had in a long time, proper potatoes chopped up like the old days and the burger was awesome thanks and see you next month for more.

Surprisingly tasty authentic Thai food. As an Asian, I can attest to that. Highly recommended. The dinner or after work beer crowd is a friendly bunch and good information for KI. Stop by for a beer too. Its good as well.

Just had the most amazing Red Thai Curry at the Tavern. Was made from scratch and tasted excellent. 😋

I arrived Monday 5pm to get some fish and chips and the general store was closed though Google mentioned it was open to 7pm (maybe that was the Tavern only).

I went around to the side to the Tavern instead for dinner feeling a bit unsure and hesitant, as I walked in I was greeted by Beth the friendly waitress. It automatically put me at ease as she was welcoming and happy to answer all the question I had.

I was able to order fish and chips, as well as pick up some bait from the general store.

While I waited for the food my son and I chatted to friendly locals who were happy to share lots of interesting stories.

The fish and chips were delicious and my son and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner.

If you are in the area want a local country experience this is the place to visit. The place may be rustic and dated however all the people are friendly and welcoming. Be sure to ask questions about there life as they are interesting and informative.

Honestly the best Thai food I had in Adelaide so far!

Stopped in here after a few days on Kangaroo Island and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Super friendly service and really tasty food. Had the crumbed fish and it was quite good. Would definitely recommend if passing through before or after the ferry.

We had fabulous service and delicious food. The bartender and locals were really helpful with advice and local knowledge. Really enjoyed the time spent there. We didn't stay at the accommodations, so I really can't comment.

We ordered a few drinks and later a bowl of chips
Later when checking my card spending I noticed only one payment was processed
I called Zssturday morning and spoke to the lady in the shop
Told her the story she said not to worry and thanks for the honestly
My late wife used to call me Zhonest Zooey
I have donated $20.00 to the Salvation Army to keep the paying forward going

Dropped in for lunch. The best Thai Green Chicken Curry I've ever had. There was 6 of us. Everyone's food was perfect. The staff are super friendly as well. Will be back.

We stopped at the tavern for a meal after returning on the 6:00pm ferry from Kangaroo Island. The place was packed and we found out that they were short of staff which didn't auger well for being fed within a reasonable time. However, we couldn't have got it more wrong thanks to Mel, the super woman. She made sure we were looked after, despite the fact that she was being rushed off her feet. Sure, we had to wait a little while, but not all that long, all things being equal. And when Mel brought out the meals they were all delicious - the Panang curry, the mini seafood and the chicken schnitty. Well done Mel, and the Cape Jervis team - we think you're all legends. Great work!

People and food are very nice🩷 Thai food is much better than the ones in Adelaide city center. I look forward to visiting again next time🥰

Located on the edge of the town, it is a quaint little store but had just what we wanted. The smallest size of hot chips was perfect and were well cooked. Also, service was great

The Thai food here is delicious and authentic. The Thai chef here can easily give one of the top Thai restaurants in Adelaide a run for their money!
Great value and great taste. Would highly recommend the green and red curry as well as the Penang curry (they all come along with plain rice. They also serve the usual pub meals but we did not like it much. Thai food can sometimes take about 30 minutes so plan accordingly.
The general store has a tavern, fuel pump and the usual essential supplies all in the one premises.

With no where else to get food and a spontaneous trip here around lunch time we were desperate to fill our rumbling tummies and order some plain hamburgers for around $7 each. While we had to wait a while to have our order taken, and then for it to be cooked (which they apologised for), it was one of the best hamburgers (with salad and cheese - so not very plain thankfully) I've had in a very long time. A delightful find!
