Federal Hotel

The Fed is a lovely country pub that was bustling on a Friday night. There were still plenty of tables and the outdoor umbrellas kept the light rain off us. There was a good selection of meals and specials and the food came out pretty quickly. The beef burger was very tasty but it definitely could have been hotter. The chips were well seasoned and there was a generous serve. Overall a good pub to visit!

As an ex-local of over 40 yrs I have seen the Federal go through various stages from fantastic food mediocre and now it's back better than ever! We had a fantastic lunch of delicious burgers. The staff was fantastic. Vincent is doing a great job as licencee. Keep up the good work. We will be back!

I haven't had a steak for about a year, and last night I had a beautiful steak, it was steak night for $20.
The only thing I didn't like was the trendy salad cabbage and leaf lettuce. But I'm old fashion.

What a great pub and fabulous meal! The food offering was top notch and a step above the regular pub fare (although there were burgers, schnitzels and pizzas on offer too). The service was efficient and friendly and the quaint old dining room was a gem. There were also great outdoor areas available. We will definitely be back if we are ever in the area.

Great food. Really surprised how big the parmi was. And my son loved the brisket burger

We had lunch and moved from outside to inside...it was an extremely hot day and we thought there should have been more fans.
The inside restaurant is a little dark.
We had shared plates and they are a great idea if you don't want a big meal.

All in all, a good day.

Just visiting Alstonville on Easter Sunday, popped into the Federal Hotel and ordered, the roast beef an veges special of the day…it was the best roast beef & veges ever! THANKYOU. The Chef was jovial, had a laugh about horney for beef….it was great food, a good laugh and staff were lovely :) Thanks guys. Will visit again!

Great Lamb Cutlets…..cooked perfectly and the service was excellent.

Smashing meal guys! Ordered the fish and chips (snapper), partner had the brisket burger and we shared a pesto cheesy garlic bread. Cannot fault our meal, was delicious. Hats off to one of the older ladies and especially the chef that took the time to speak to me and reassure me that there was no cross contamination with barramundi (I’m anaphylactic).

Because of the service from the above and the food, we chose not to whine about the fact our first “we don’t serve pints, only schooners” had a fly in the top and the young bird tipped the top out and repoured a little bit 🤮 but eh, had worse beers before.

Definitely worth a stop. Great sitting out the front on the picnic tables . Gold beer. Plenty of seating. Fantastic looking pub inside and out.

Awesome pub for our family to enjoy live music vibes, delicious food and an ice cold beer for dad. We even brought our dog and sat out the back in the beer garden, thanks for having us and see you again soon

When its pumping or mid week quiet, the food is consistently excellent as are the lovely staff.

Great pub, great atmosphere, all staff happy and professional. Unfortunately lose a star for the beef nachos which had plenty of avo, plenty of coleslaw, nicely cooked chips but only traces of beef which ended up making it a bit disappointing.
