Coober Pedy.
Well, how do I describe this place?
The Comfort Inn is amazing. The staff are so helpful and supportive of all of your touring requirements.
I met a few locals Von & Mick who graciously invited me to their house and working claim just near the black flag.
It is such a welcoming community that should be visited, and also entrancing at the same time.
It was the best sleep I have ever had in an underground dug-out. Do yourself a favour and visit Coober Pedy

On a road trip to Uluru and we were recommended the comfort inn. Stunning cavernous hotel carved deep into the rock. Deep tranquil sleep in a comfortable, and incredibly fair priced suite. But the very best part was the service. Shout out to the hotel manager Melissa who was courteous, warm, had great local knowledge and made us feel so at home. Highly, highly recommend!

Oh my gosh! Mel was an absolute superstar! Completely delightful to chat to, offered us fantastic recommendations, a wealth of knowledge and makes an incredible coffee as well! It was so delightful getting to stay in such a fantastic room and feel so welcomed by such a fantastic community. Thank you so much for making our stay in your lovely town a wonderful one!

Melissa is fantastic, welcoming and assisted with transfers to and fro the airport and anything else we needed.

We stayed for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the living underground experience.

Very clean, easi walk to town and many activities, anything out of reach a booked tour helped us.

Stayed two nights here with my sister about a month ago and we had a really good experience. We hit a black eagle which had shattered our front windscreen. We told the lady at the reception and before we even checked in she put us in contact with the local glass repairs man. Super friendly staff, and great rooms for what you pay. Location is about a minutes drive from the town centre. Would for sure stay here again if I come back to Coober Peedy :)

We had one of the underground rooms. Great experience. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We opted not to have breakfast but it did seem a little confusing how you got a coffee. Location was great for us right next door to the miners museum

Lovely stay at this underground hotel. We stayed for one night over NYE and thoroughly enjoyed it. Very clean rooms with everything you need to your convenience. Dog friendly hotel, and our dog loved it. The hotel room as well as the common rooms were a lovely temperature compared to the 40 degrees outside. Friendly and helpful staff, quiet and clean hotel. The hotel is conveniently located right next to the old mine. All around a great experience!

After obtaining a couple of flat tyres on the Oodnadatta Track, we desperately needed somewhere to stay over night in Coober Pedy. We managed to get ahold of a young gentleman after house who left keys in the safe box for us as we were limping into town quite late. In the morning Melissa couldn’t be more accommodating as we waited for new tyres to be fitted to our car. It’s clear that Melissa is passionate about the hotel and providing outstanding customer service. She was kind enough to let us hang around well after check out, gave us a tour and told us about the history of the hotel. An absolute diamond in a field of opals. Will be recommending to all friends and family passing through Coober Pedy. Thank you, Melissa.

Fantastic underground rooms with original opal still in the walls! The staff were excellent, going well beyond what anyone could reasonably expect. Even the Wifi was good, considering how badly radio travels through rock. There's an onsite café, a very good museum and opal store next door and a reasonable restaurant 8 minutes walk away.

Really lovely stay. The underground room as well as the common area are beautiful. The breakfast and coffee were also nice. Melissa was an excellent host and went above and beyond in the service she provided. Thank you, Melissa. We will be back when visiting Coober Pedy next time.

The team at The Comfort Inn were wonderful. They provided excellent service and local knowledge when my car broke down. They were willing to go above and beyond in their help and support. I can’t thank them enough. The hotel itself is kept clean and the rooms are very comfortable.

I was a little concerned that staying in a chain hotel would mean we missed the full Coober Pedy experience but that’s not the case here. As soon as you walk in, you’re underground. Little tunnels to explore add to the experience. Rooms are clean and well-equipped, staff are friendly. Would definitely stay here again!

WOW! Just wow! What an expert to stay underground in this beautiful hotel.
Mellisa is absolutely beautiful, not only did she look after me and my stay here, she lent me her van to travel around Coober Pedy for the day because my bus was not picking me up until 7.30pm.
I can’t rate my experience enough.
Thank you again for looking after me Melisa xxx

Such friendly people in the most incredible setting! If you want a genuine rock cave hotel with caring staff who actually take care of you, this is the only place to go in Coober Pedy. Book early as it is frequently busy, and it's easy to see why. If I could give more stars I would. Cannot recommend enough.

Stayed here for two nights. A very unique experience - would recommend. Rooms were large and clean. There was no mobile signal in the rooms but ghe hotel has (slightly patchy) WiFi. The bathroom is basic but has what you need. Our room also had a small kitchenette with fridge, microwave and kettle.

From checking in with Melissa, to an amazing clean room. Such a cool experience being underground. It was even better because we got to bring our German shepherd in with us!
Highly recommended!
Thanks again for having us!

Fantastic! Management and staff are friendly and clearly take pride in the rooms on offer. Cosily and carefully furnished, the place has a casual and comfortable atmosphere.

Pet friendly and they mean it, my family (furry ones included) felt welcome and enjoyed our stay.

P.S if you do bring pets, please be responsible. This hotel puts trust and good faith in us to look after the rooms and clean up after our pets, and I would hate for a bad experience to disabuse their benevolence.

This hotel gives you the unique experience of Coober Pedy. It’s like an underground palace. Rooms are very comfortable and clean. The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. Pet friendly, good Internet. All in all, we couldn’t ask for more. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay again when we come back :)
