Definitely the best, most authentic opal shop in Coober Pedy! An incredibly beautiful selection available. Very friendly owners too :) Worth a visit!

I took my husband and 3 children into the store. The kids had buying an opal from Coober Pedy big on their travel list. George took the time to show them opals, explain the different types and help them select a little piece of treasure. The kids were beyond excited to buy their opal from you. If you want to buy an opal, buy from George. He mines locally and knows his stuff. Support the hard working Australian! Today, myself and 2 of my travel companions spent more than 1 hour in this store selecting our perfect pieces of opal jewellery. It was a pleasure to shop with George, his knowledge, confidence and frankness on various pieces was refreshing. We bought a pair of earrings from George a couple of years ago and his selection of opals and jewellery and his knowledge was outstanding. Absolutely beautiful opals and amazing people!

I went in with my mum and 3 kids late Sunday arvo (which is normally a dreaded experience haha). We took our time to look around. I didn't feel pressured to buy anything and I wasn't pulling my hair out with the kids. They were super understanding and as a result I bought myself the most beautiful opal bracelet! Normally I barely get to look, let alone buy anything for myself! It is the first time I've absolutely fell inlove with a piece of jewellery and it took my breath away trying it on. I knew I could not leave without it. The quality of the opals and jewellery are fantastic (all Aussie made) and I love that I bought straight from the miner himself. Obviously very knowledgeable and have a certificate of authenticity and 10 years guarentee. As an added bonus, they gave my daughter solid opal as she turned 1 in Coober Pedy. How thoughtful! Definitely made our day 🥰

Great service and no pressure sales from the knowledgeable miner and owner of this shop. We went to several stores before this one and were told when we entered we would get a 10, 30 or 50 % saving if we brought from them; my rip off alarms sounded immediately. I ended up buying a pair of solid opal earrings from him that come with a 10 year guarantee and certificate of authenticity. He was very patient with me as I viewed his collection until I found the pair that appealed to me. Go in just for a look he has a great selection of jewelry and cut stones. His display table in the middle of his store is a must see, made from an old door, ask him about it. Great shopping experience

My husband and I were in this store three times within the course of 2 days. Each time we were treated with patience and respect. The store is quite lovely and their opal collection is wide enough to fit anyone's wallet. We bought two beautiful opals. We told the owner that we were looking for ones for little children also and he recommended another store that he knew would meet this need. Suffice it to say, the owner and staff were friendly, accommodating and very well informed. The owner is actually the miner.

I saw this stunning necklace and decided my partner should buy it for me, which he did! George and his wife were so helpful and knowledgeable about opals. I highly recommend them.

This store has lots of unique and modern designs, and the staff were very patient. I'm the end, they even offered to show me some of their unfinished pieces from out back. I bought one of those and I absolutely love it.

Highly recommend coming here for your opal purchases. Just like the name implies, there’s no middle men, just miners and a jeweler who sets the stones. We were able to get much more bang for our buck!
