Radeka Downunder Motel

The new owner only took over the hotel three months ago and is gradually renovating it. But it's really great now, the price-performance ratio is okay, the room was clean and nice and cool, the showers and toilets work perfectly and were clean, the shared kitchen is very well equipped, above all, I liked the idea I like the separate refrigerator where you can put products in that you no longer need.
The TV room could be designed a little more lovingly.
The WiFi works excellently even in the lower rooms and the private parking space is also a big plus.
The central location is also great, restaurants and shops can be reached on foot.
And the stuff was friendly and recommended a good restroom.😊

I can't stress enough how this is an amazing stay.
The rooms were so cool (and cool😎)

Beyond that, this hostel has recently been taken over by Peter and his mate. Peter is a lively, energetic and really kind young man, who is do good at what he does.

This company really deserves a 5 star rating and that's what they're getting from me.

A lot of hard work has obviously gone into it and it shows. Very clean and cool (temperature) rooms.

We had called up 3 other venues and there was no availability, and the owner of this business went above and beyond for us to ensure we had a pet friendly room for my Blue Heeler, Eddie.

Definitely recommend staying here.

Wonderful place to stay in the centre of Coober Pedy with a very friendly owner! It was great to stay underground in Coober Pedy, and it was easy to get to everywhere in and around the town from Radeka’s. Will definitely be back when the renovations are finished!

We loved it! The reception decor is groovy, the beds very comfortable and was one of the best night's sleep I've ever had. Just down the road is space ship from a movie set, and the Coober Pedy Hollywood-style sign on the hill is fun too. Our host was enthusiastic and friendly. Definitely recommend :)

Great place to stay in town; central location; great staff keeping it clean and tidy like clockwork; awesome kitchen with all facilities - and the manager is a top bloke very helpful and offering advice when necessary!

Excellent stay in a dug out. Community kitchen with enough utensils and gas stove for preparing your meals. Convenient location.

What a great stay! Booked a private bedroom with shared facilities. Comfy bed, clean bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, comfy tv room, everything you could need and clean. Perfect location right in towncenter, everything in walking distance. Very friendly and helpful new owners as well. They went out of their way answering lots of my questions, storing luaggage for my late night bus, even gave me a ride to the bus station 😃. Thank you very much Peter and team, all the best for your new project, you're doing an amazing job with the place. Would recommend and stay again any time! Make sure as well to check out the underground area, very impressive to see!

On arrival, the owner Heather was positively delightful and very happy to show me all the accommodations her hotel had.

Arrived on a 40°c day and the room was easily 20° cooler than outside.

WiFi is great and gave family of 4 all we need.

Excellent facilities like kitchen/laundry and TV room.

Great underground rooms and very pet friendly.

Awsome service even went above and beyond to return our daughters sacred pillow.

Garry and Heather are very friendly and helpful managers. The motel is a really interesting place to stay, particularly in the lower levels. The communal kitchen is large and clean and the bathrooms are clean. There's good security for cars. Garry and Heather helped us out in a pinch when our other accommodation fell through - very grateful for their hospitality!

Nice place, very helpful and friendly staff. Staying in an underground hotel room was interesting. Great location being in the middle of Coober Pedy. If you want to know anything about Coober Pedy, these are the best people to talk to.

The owners/couple are really sweet. The stay was lovely in the cave with clean beds and posh rooms and big communical kitchen with all the appliances of modern world. Personally, Garry was super helpful with our car and fixed the problem without changing us. We are glad to meet someone so kind and nice during our travel of outback. Definitely recommend to stay here only.

Incredibly friendly, helpful staff/owners. Rooms basic, but functional and comfortable. Well equiped communal kitchen, and laundry. Goal of having that underground experience achieved. Great location in middle of town. Will be back on return journey.

We stayed in a motel room which was excellent. The couple that run the place are outstanding, very helpful and down to earth, wish more places had people like them. Thanks for a great overnight stay.

This is the second time I have stayed here. I was really looking forward to the return and I wasn't disappointed. The room was very pelasant and quiet enough for a good nights sleep. Sleeping underground in a cave with a bed is amazing!

Great value and such a cool experience. There's plenty of accommodation options to suit all budgets, although you really have to stay down below to get the proper experience. The owners are absolute characters, very funny and a real credit to the place. They're more than happy to show you around and explain the history of Radeka. Kitchen was nice and clean and bathrooms were decent. Would absolutely stay again.
